Hi, how do i change what the default setting is for an indicator. I have all my pre-programmed settings setup, but for some reason it automatically comes up with different settings and I have to use the hotkey to change it to what I want.

Sorry, I was referring to the drawing objects. Like lines, trendlines, etc.

The Drawing Tools are going to use whatever was the last option selected. There is no "default" for the drawing tool. It sounds like you are already familiar with the ability to create a control bar button to select the drawing tool and configuration at one time. Therefore, the only thing we can say is that you would need to select that option prior to drawing to ensure that it is set the way you want. For anyone else that happens across this post, here is the documentation for how to setup the Control Bar Button to select a tool and configuration at the same time: Chart Drawing Tools: Creating Control Bar Buttons which Select Drawing Tool and Drawing Tool Configuration in One Step For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

thanks, but i dont find that to be the case with drawing tools. it seems to have no pattern for which config it draws under, except one thing I have noticed is if I continually use a config #, it will start to default to that after a while. but would be nice to be able to set it manually. I removed the drawing, set my config and added it again, the default didn't change. |

The configuration that is used should always be the last configuration that was used for that tool. Perhaps the confusion comes in that it is on a per tool basis. So if you use the Line with Configuration 3, then the Chart Calculator with Configuration 5, then when you change back to the Line, the Current Configuration will change to Configuration 3.

Have you tried using Global Settings>>Tool Configs? That is where you set the default settings for tools. You can assign 8 TC buttons to use Quick Load.
