I am very confused with which exchange to be using and data source. I have Interactive Brokers as my broker and selected the correct data services with them so I can view the Nasdaq and NYSE stocks. I read in your suggestions to use SC Real Time or Denali? I connect via Interactive Brokers in the datafeed. What is the easiest way to load the charts as I screen through them and then trade them with live quotes and real time data? Right now, it is taking 3-5minutes to load one symbol with my connection to IB as the data source. When it does load, it is also not loading historical volume data on the chart?

You can see here that it only loads 1 volume bar.

Right now, you are not getting the US Equities data from us. You are getting that data from Interactive Brokers.

You are signed up for the Denali Exchange Data Feed and have the CME, COMEX, NYMEX, and CBOT exchanges active with Market Depth.

In order to get the U.S. Equities from us (Sierra Chart) then you would need to use the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed and activate the U.S. Equities exchange. Refer to the information at the following link, including Setup Instructions:
Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed

Note that our U.S. Equities feed does NOT include level 2 market depth data. So if that is something you need, then you should continue to get your equities data from IB.

-------------------

On a separate note, we see that you have activated the individual options for the CME Group exchanges, such that you have all 4 of the exchanges active. It is slightly cheaper to just use the one exchange entitled Full CME Group (CME, CBOT, COMEX, NYMEX) with Market Depth for nonprofessional Trading accounts. You will save the cost of one of the exchanges - $10.40 - this way.

Since you get charged for the full amount of the month whenever you activate an exchange, we recommend doing the following:
1. Go to the following page any time before the end of this month, and select the Deactivate button for all 4 exchanges that you have currently active:
https://www.sierrachart.com/UserControlPanel.php?page=DenaliDataFeed

This will not stop the data, it just stops the automatic renewal of the data next month.

2. On May 1, when you first get going with your trading, go to the same page again, and then activate the Full CME Group (CME, CBOT, COMEX, NYMEX) with Market Depth for nonprofessional Trading accounts exchange by selecting the Activate button for it.

You will then be getting the same data, but for $10.40 less.

Thank you. I am just looking for volume and price on NASDAQ and NYSE symbols. I am confused and subscribed to a bunch of things. Do I need 'market depth' to get volume and price? What exactly is market depth?

1. I believe I selected the correct SC Data services now. This covers live real time and historical data for all NYSE and NASDAQ symbols, correct?

2. I won't need Denali unless I am trading futures, correct? I can cancel those exchanges then , right?

3. If I am logged in to SC Data as my datafeed - How do I trade my IB account in there?

Thank you

1. Yes, you have that setup now.

2. Correct, that data is for futures. If you are not trading futures, then you do not need to continue the Denali Exchange Data Feed. Refer to the following:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/DenaliExchangeDataFeed.php#CancellingTheDenaliExchangeDataFeed_Package10_11_12

3. Refer to the Setup Instructions for IB here:
Interactive Brokers Trading Service: Setup Instructions

You can get the data from us and still trade with IB. This is not an issue.

Thanks. I setup IB in the datafeed/connection but I am logged into the SC Data. I setup IB to login via IB as well. How do I trade IB with the SC data feed as my data feed? Do I login to SC Data - All Services and somehow link to IB?

Thank you
Ian

You need to go through the setup instructions for IB here:
Interactive Brokers Trading Service: Setup Instructions

That will connect your Sierra Chart to IB.

You will still get the data from us. You can get our data and trade with IB without any problem. Sierra Chart is setup to do this.

I did setup the IB with SC. IB is its own datafeed though. Which datafeed do I connect to? I want to use the SC data and trade with IB as my broker. If I am logged into SC Data, I don't see my IB account number?

Yes, IB has it's own data feed, but as we stated previously, you will be getting the data from us, even when you have the Service set to Interactive Brokers. You can verify that you have the data from us if you see a [M] after the symbol name in the Chart Header.

So I would login to IB as my datafeed/connection but it automatically pulls the data from SC? There isn't something I have to do to have the system use SC instead of IB for data?

Yes!

By default, your system should be set to use the SC data if you have purchased it. If you want to check for certain, go through the instructions here:

Is this the option I am to select in order to use the SC data source while connected to IB?

Set the Allow Support for Sierra Chart Data Feeds option to Yes.
