Hello, I am trying to activate US Equities but keep getting the following error: "Failed to activate the 'U.S. Equities (NYSE, NASDAQ, AMEX)' exchange. To enable the exchange at least one Real-time Data Connection must be currently active and enabled for Auto-Renewal."

When I try to activate a real-time data connection I get this: " If you require real-time data only for the CME, CBOT, NYMEX, or COMEX exchanges, then you **must** use the new Denali Exchange Data Feed which is lower cost, allows multiple simultaneous connections without any additional cost and no symbol limits. Otherwise, you can continue to Activate the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed below. The Sierra Chart Exchange Data feed no longer provides CME, CBOT, NYMEX, or COMEX data to new users or to users where the data feed has been deactivated."

I want to keep my denali/cqg and add in additional feeds/data that I need.

Let me know the right steps to follow.

Thanks!

Before you are able to activate the US Equities exchange, you need to activate the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed here:

We can see that you have activated the Data Feed, but you do still need to activate the US Equities Exchange.

Yes, but for half of the month it's the same price as a full month. It's not pro-rated.

What exactly do I get with Exchange Data Feed? I know I need that in order to get the US Equities but what is the value of this feed in of itself?
Why couldn't I get the US equities and other data feeds with Denali data feed?

We have two data feeds:
- Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed
- Denali Exchange Data Feed.

The Denali Exchange Data Feed is our new feed in which we have direct connections to the exchanges that are available on it. Right now, this is the CME Group and the EUREX. We are working on a NASDAQ connection.

The Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed is our older data feed and we get our data through another company. It has the data for most other major exchanges.

I understand that but I still don't get what the value I am getting from Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed?
What is included in that feed, what are the 250 symbols for it?
I need to pay additional fees to get the data feed and on top of that I need to activate additional services such as US Equities data, etc. Doesn't make any sense to me.

The first part of the fees is for the data feed itself. So this is our fee to cover the cost of development, integration, etc. In the case of the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed, the number of symbols controls the cost of the data feed. The number of symbols is the number of symbols you can be getting data for concurrently. So if you are on the 250 symbol option, then you can be viewing data for 250 symbols at the same time.

The other part of the fees is the cost of the exchange. This goes straight to the exchanges and is their charge for the data.

If you want data for the U.S. Equities, then that is only available through the Sierra Chart Exchange Data feed.

Ok, what are the 250 symbols included in this feed? How do I find out those symbols list?
And is this feed recommended to set up in another "instance" instead of Denali with CQG?

Refer to the following regarding the number of symbols:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SierraChartRealTimeFuturesStockDataFeed.php#SymbolLimits

You can use the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed in combination with the Denali Exchange Data Feed and with CQG as your trading service. You do NOT need to use another installation, unless you want to for some reason.

That tells me symbol limit but how do I know which exactly symbols I'm getting with this data feed?
And your directions to set up this data feed with Denali/CQG aren't very clear to me as well.?

It's not a limit on what symbols are available. It's just a limit on how many symbols you are getting data for at the same time.

But, to see the list of symbols, go to the following page which will list the NYSE symbols. You will see links at the top of the page for other pages of symbols for various exchanges. For the U.S. Equities, it would include the following:
- NYSE MKT
- NASDAQ
- New York Stock Exchange

And your directions to set up this data feed with Denali/CQG aren't very clear to me as well.?

Just go through the Setup Instructions for the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed and everything will work. You will find the instructions here:

Ok, that makes sense but I still don't see what symbols I'm getting with this feed though.

Also I followed those direction and in Sierra chart platform, all I have to do say "Yes" to "Allow Support for Sierra Chart Data Feeds", correct? as shown in the attached file.

You currently have the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed and have activated the CBOE Indices exchange.:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SierraChart_RealTime_And_Historical_Symbols.php&SymbolsPage=Indices#INDEX-CBOE

And you have the Denali exchange data which includes the entire CME Group. Those would be the symbols listed under File >> Find Symbol >> Futures (Specifically the CME group of 4)

Also I followed those direction and in Sierra chart platform, all I have to do say "Yes" to "Allow Support for Sierra Chart Data Feeds", correct? as shown in the attached file.
Yes this is correct.

In terms of Real-Time data - Yes, you will get the Real-Time data for those symbols that are associated with the exchanges that you activate.

Otherwise, you would still have access to Historical data for other symbols from other exchanges that are supported. Refer to the following:

Ok, thanks! that's helpful but I just looked at the included market and it says "FINRA" and others are included but I don't see it under "Available Symbols"

Thanks, I still don't know how to access the FINRA data in SC?
Also, I took one of the symbols and tested in the feed and I got the following errors (see screenshot attached).

The reason you got the above error is because any data that you are not specifically getting from us is looking to come from CQG, since that is what your Service is set to. I made a mistake in my earlier statement about having access to the Historical data, although you can get it if you install a separate instance of Sierra Chart and set the Service to SC Data - All Services.

Therefore, you would have to subscribe to the U.S. Equities to be able to get the data while your Service is set to CQG.

Ok, I've installed the 2nd instances and it's working but I'm still not seeing the 4th Market "FINRA" listed on this page and some others as well.

I will subscribe to US Equities feed at beginning of the new month.

I activated the US equities feed today but I'm getting the following messages on my ES symbol that has been working totally fine until today. And Sierra chart programs continues to go from Responding to "Not Responding" mode every minute. I'm not sure why and what is happening here, the CQG data feed also connects and disconnect all of the sudden as well.
I need immediate resolution to this before the market opens tomorrow, I'm paying a lot for these data feeds and I don't want to be facing these issues going forward.

For an issue like this you really have to go through the items in help topic 30:
High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often

For now we recommend closing your existing Chartbook and using a new one. And then you can isolate the problem gradually later. There is something which you have created with your chart configurations within Sierra Chart which is the reason for the issue.

You should look in the Window >> Message Log and see if there any messages added just after the time there is a not responding condition.

Regarding the market data access issue for CME group futures data, make sure this setting is enabled:

Data/Trade Service Settings: Allow Support for Sierra Chart Data Feeds (Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Common Settings >> Common Other Settings)

And:

Follow the instructions here to update the Symbol Settings:

this hasn't been an issue until I activated this new feed and all of sudden it started to connect and disconnect and go from "responding" to "Not responding"
It's been working totally fine until this new feed was introduced.

First, check that the option for File >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Common Settings >> Allow Support for Sierra Chart Data Feeds is set to Yes. The information you are showing implies that it is set to No. Change it to Yes, then select File >> Disconnect followed by File >> Connect to Data Feed.

If it is set to Yes already, then follow these instructions to get us your Message Log:

Follow the instructions here to clear the Message Log:
Message Log: Clearing the Message Log

Open a chart for the symbol you have an issue with. Tell us that symbol of the chart.

Disconnect from the data feed with "File >> Disconnect".

Connect to the data feed with "File >> Connect to Data Feed".

After the connection and after about 10 seconds, provide a copy of the Message Log following these instructions:
