Hi, I'm newer to SC. And I couldn't find the answer in the forum so forgive me if this is a basic question. But when entering a new symbol on a chart it takes a while to load all the data I assume because the "Date Range in File" initial value is set to 2020-08-03. At the same time I have "Use Number of Days to load" set to 3. I just want it to only load the specified number of days back instead of trying to pull data from the "Date Range In File" date. Is there a way to make it only pull a few back for a new symbol if it doesn't have data for it already? Thanks in advance |

Thanks. I was able to use the maxhistorical settings you referred me to to limit amount of data the chart loads per data source. However is my understanding incorrect about the limiting settings in the chart settings area itself? However I would have thought that under chart settings if I have Limiting Method set to "Use Number Of Days To Load" and then in the section below I set "Days To Load for Intraday Chart Data Type" to X days that it should be limited to that. However whenever I do that it doesn't seem to limit anything. And it seems to start fetching data probably using the Date Range From date? I try to toggle settings or change that date, but it doesn't seem to work (or date doesn't seem to stick). IS this a bug? Am I not understanding how the Chart Settings is supposed to work? Thanks in advance |

You are not quite understanding how the Chart Settings work. The first thing to understand is that when you download data for a symbol the very first time, it is going to use the setting for the "Max Historical Intraday Days to Load". Once data is already downloaded, then the system is going to use the Number of Days, or the Date Range to show the data and also download any additional data if necessary. ok yes, I wasn't understanding how Chart Settings works. So does this mean that the Max Historial setting on the data feed acts as the limit to what it will load initially. But if a Chart is loaded and needs more data than what is there it will go out and grab it then? |
