Hi there,
In a live account, I have a non-existing position showing in the Trade Activity Log. Also, the trade that opened this non existing position shows in the chart but the position itself does not.

Thanks

Follow the instructions here to clear the Trade Activity Log for that particular symbol:

Hi There,

1. The wrong trade showing in the "Trades" tab does not have an entry or any reference in the "Trade Activity" tab and therefore cannot be edited by using Edit >> Edit Trade Activity Entry on the Trade Activity Log menu

2. I cannot simply clear the trade activity for the symbol of the non existing trade, as there are other valid trades for that symbol and I need this information for the valid trades. This is a live account.

3. Being this log for a live trading account with Transact, why is this happening?

Thank You

1. It must. You will need to look for it. It must actually be listed on the Trade Activity tab if you see it on the Trades tab.

2. OK.

3. It is very easy for this to happen. This is documented here:

Hi There.
1. I still do not see any reference to the non existing trade in the "Trade Activity" tab. Is not that difficult to look for the information as this is arranged in chronological order. As you can see in the "Trades" tab the non existing trade was recorded on 2014-02-07 08:33:22 at a price of 1762.75. There is no record of such in the "Trade Activity". As a matter of fact the information shown for the same date and time in the "Trade Activity" is the correct one. There is no other entry for this specific date and time in the "Trade Activity"
Thanks

Set up the controls of the top of the Trade Activity Log to provide the same trades list you attached to post #1. Select Fills at the top and then select File >> Save Log As.

Attach that file here. And confirm again the date and time of the particular trade from the Trades list there is an issue with.

In the Trade Activity Log you have provided, there are several sell fills at the end which exit several of the Trades at the end of the Trades list that you have provided in the first post. And also establish a short position. There is no doubt everything is working correctly. You just have to understand how all of the order fill matching and grouping works and identify what fill or partial fill goes to what Trade. This is documented here:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/doc_TradeActivityLog.php#OrderFillMatchingMethods

The price 1762.75, is an Average Exit Price. Not the price of a single fill.

It is completely outside the scope of our support, to provide a detailed explanation of how all of your specific order fills have been matched up to create the Trades. Therefore, at this point we have no further comment.

Hi There,

Is it possible to have another support person review these posts. With all respect, you either did not read correctly my comments and the files sent, or I have not been able to explain my self.

1. First of all, THERE WAS NEVER A SHORT POSITION IN THE ACCOUNT FROM THOSE TRADES. That is what the "Trades" tab is showing and that is why I contacted SC in the first place, but there are no positions in the account, and there was never a short after such trades were executed.

2. I understand perfectly how SC ORDER FILL MATCHING METHODS work. I am aware of my settings (FIFO).

3. How can the AVERAGE EXIT PRICE BE 1762.75 (AS YOU STATE) and as the "TRADES" tab is showing when every execution was at 1760 as the "TRADE ACTIVITY" tab shows. At 08:33:22 there were only fills at 1760 (as TRADE ACTIVITY tab shows). There is no way that the trade at 08:33:22 showing in the TRADES tab could have been at an average of 1762.75.

Please compare the information in the "TRADES" tab and the "TRADE ACTIVITY" tab for 2014-02-07 08:33:22. You will see that according to the "TRADE ACTIVITY" tab there were only executions at 1760 (which is correct)but the "TRADES" tab shows average execution (as you state) at 1762.75.

4.SC does not average fills at different times from different orders.

5. Let me reiterate that there are no positions in the account as confirmed by Transact and the account statements.

6. Is it possible that the information showing in the TRADE ACTIVITY (fills) on 2014-02-07 08:30:08 000 with no information in regards to INTERNAL ORDER ID, ORDER TYPE, OR FILLED QUANTITY, is the reason why the trades at 08:33:22 on the TRADES tab are showing wrongly even though they were executed at a different time?

Thank You

1. Add up all of the quantities of the buy and sell fills from the Trade Activity Log. Use a negative quantity for the sells and you will find that the net position is -1.

2. OK.

3. The Exit Date-Time of 08:33:22 is for the final fill which makes up the Trade. There can be another fill with an earlier time that partially exits the position. This will affect the average exit price.

4. When creating the Trades list, Sierra Chart certainly could use more than fill from different orders and apply it to a Trade.

5. We have no doubt this is true.

6. That fill can certainly affect the Trades list which is generated on the Trades tab.

We will review this again to confirm everything is correct.
