Typically, I look at 5-8 markets on average in the morning. The following day, I have done my research and picked my zones. I would like to have my zones give me an alert when they are within 5 ticks or so from my target. Presently, I use OEC, and I like their alerts, but I would much rather prefer a more automated way of doing this. Going from chart to chart, it is necessary for the alerts to toll me what is coming into the zone. Can someone help me with this? I am totally open to a screen share with a Sierra Tech person and would very much appreciate it.

You could use the Horizontal Lines study to create the zones, and then pre-programm the Spreadsheet System/Alert study to do the alerts. The Horizontal Lines study has up to 40 lines to make up to 20 zones. You would only need to edit the settings of this study each day. You could use the same-named spreadsheet study on all charts in the chartbook. This is the basic layout but some other details would need to be worked out. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2014-02-01 22:47:31

We would recommend just programming an alert condition formula into each of the charts, which monitors for your particular condition and then when the condition becomes true for particular chart, you will see the result in Window >> Show/Hide Alerts Manager. The Horizontal Lines study's lines can be paired, 1&2, 3&4, etc., so that you could use Fill Top/Fill Bottom draw styles to color the zones. The line pairs do not need to be in price order, so you only need to edit the one that have changed. But I would put the higher of the zone on odd lines and the lower of the zone on the even lines. The alert formula would need an absolute reference of cell $J$21 to grab the tick size. Let me know if you need some help with the formulas. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2014-02-01 22:58:02
