Hi if I select a new instance of sierra in file. It doesn't connect to the database and in the message log, notes suggest that I don't have the correct package. I haven't changed my package and have never had this problem so would appreciate your help.

We see the sub instance is still running version 2068. Exit from that sub instance, and restart it.

Hi I tried that and still had the problem I then restarted my PC and reinstalled latest vrs and still the same problem

There really should not be a problem with this. Exit all instances of Sierra Chart. Start up the main instance only and update update that instance:

And then start the sub instances.

Sorry other than uninstalling and reinstalling I've done everything you've asked and still got the same issue! Happy to video it if you want!

Actions close down sierra completely
restart PC
Open sierra go to HELP- Download current vrs - run the update. It automatically restarts SC
I then open a new instance and get the same message log

Are you running the sub instances of Sierra Chart using File >> New Instance?

If not, then update the secondary instances with Help >>Download Current Version. That should resolve the problem.

Sorry for the late response been away on holiday. I am running a sub instance using File>> New Instance .

I think your asking me to update from the Sub/New instance? If so I've tried it and it won't let me. I get a pop up telling me to update sierra chart from the main instance not the subinstance.
Followed by sub instances will be automatically updated on restart.

I am pretty stuck!!

Really this makes no sense as to why there would be a problem. Go into the sub instance folder (SierraChartInstance_2) and any others, and delete all EXE and DLL files in there. Make sure to do this when the sub instance is not running.
