Please SC engineers, get Sierra back to the "normal stable" we had for years. I just wanted to change a target order size in the DOM from 7 to 6 lots and SC crashed on me. Completely shut down. Nothing stated in the message log. I'm on 2132, newest windows, Open GL.

Looks like this issue below re-appeared in 2132 after it was fixed

This is a Windows operating system issue! The stability problem is there.

Sierra Chart does not have an issue like this in its own code. Something is going wrong at the operating system level. We did already implement a workaround though. We will see what we can do.

Update: We are going to do additional testing and research related to this issue.

Thanks for looking into this. I also activated the message log save to file to be able to send more detailed logs if it happens again. I hope not, because today it cost me some...

The log file is definitively of no use to us for something like this. And we are 100% certain this is an operating system level issue.

Sierra Chart itself just does not have problems like this. And we have never been able to reproduce this either.

The way we are looking to approach this is to completely replace that dialog with our new settings dialog.

Let us know if you still see the issue on 2135.

We are also working on replacing that order quantity dialog which uses Microsoft Dialog functionality, to our new high-performance and highly customizable settings interface. We should have this out in a few more days at the latest.

The only thing that we changed that perhaps could be related would be that we removed some enhanced exception handling related to OpenGL. Perhaps that was causing some stack corruption issue that we were unaware of. Why that would be the case we do not know.

Tested a few days with 2135. SC is really back to rock stable even with Open GL.

The problem is still there. It is not version specific. You are just not seeing it.

And we do not believe the problem is within Sierra Chart to begin with.

All I can say is that I did intense testing in trying to reproduce the crashes. In prior versions I could easily reproduce it - not any more in 2135. Whatever changed - I like it and it makes SC rocksolid again. Not one exception since 2135, before I had 3-5 every day.

As long as I don't see it - it's gone for me ;-)

We do believe this issue is now resolved. Our conclusion after all this time is that it must have been an operating system level bug causing a stack corruption but we are no longer using the operating system provided order modification dialog.

For the record we did not identify any problem, never did, and never did anything to directly resolve the issue other than avoid using a Microsoft dialog window which was perfectly fine to begin with.

This is just further hard evidence this was an operating system problem.
