I really have tried. I have entered every variation of 'trade sounds' 'sound alerts'....I have read all the paragraphs on alerts...and yet no where can I find how simply to listen to the sounds. I click on #34 for example and I would think like a phone it would play it, but it doesn't. What am I missing. I am sorry to bother you but I can't find it anywhere...

thank you as always

We are not sure how you are trying to listen to the sounds. They are just .wav files, so opening the sound file in the operating system file manager should open the application you have associated with .wav files and play the sound.

If you do not have an application associated, it should ask you what you want to use to open the file.

But, another option is to go to Global Settings >> General Settings >> Alerts and on that window you can use the button for Select Sound File and the button for Test Sounds to hear the sound. Refer to the information here:
General Settings Window: Sampling/Testing Sound Files

Hi, thanks for trying to help me but I am still in a muddle. I have made 2 screens shots. First of what I see when I go to the general settings you suggest. Yes, I can click on and hear the sounds. BUT they are 'named' rather than the numbers you see in the trade settings which I have enclosed a shot of. I don't see anything on the trade settings page where I can click a 'test sounds' like I can in the general settings.

I am sorry I am so stupid but I am...Karen

You can give the alert sounds a meaningful 'User Defined Name' in the 'general settings' window, this is then visible in the 'trade settings' window, maybe this is helpful?
