Hi Guys, I can't download US stocks form the SC historical data service daily data. I have a service package of 5 I have a freshly installed machine, Windows Server 2016 ( running on AWS) I have installed Sierra chart and NOT set any broker config/details. I login fine with my username and password. I've made no config change except to choose tick data. If I select Find Symbol and choose AAPL (or IBM or DIS) and choose intraday, a chart appears on 1MIN and fills with data for the last few months. If I choose any of the above symbols and choose Open Historical Chart. No data appears The chart comes up and flash in blue "Downloading historical data. Bars may not appear till done." After a moment the messages flashes red and says "Download failed". I have followed information from Sierra Chart Historical Data Service and https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/DownloadingHistoricalDailyData.php. When I follow the manual download steps above, the same blue downloading message followed by the red download failed messages appear. The log shows this when I try to get daily data "Error downloading historical Daily data for AAPL. Error executing query: Invalid username/password" I have attached the Message Log as its longish Any help appreciated Thanks Chris |

This is very unusual and this does not make technical sense to us. We want you to restart Sierra Chart and use the Force Logon option and see if this is resolved: Sierra Chart - Software Login Instructions: Forced Login Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Hi, The Force Logon did not help. I checked my password and it ended with a \ (backslash) I decided to change my password (no backslashes in the password) and I can now access SD Historical Daily charts :) There are no longer the "Response: ERROR: Invalid Sierra Chart Account and/or Password" errors in the log And the ability of Sierra Chart to remember my password and login itself now works (Previously I had to paste the password myself after it failed to login with remember password) I could login to the website, purchase and post messages fine ( no problem with the old password on the website) I'm happy with this outcome, please close off this issue Regards Chris |

Ok we have to look into this. It does not matter what your password is. The password used for historical data is different than the password you have on your Sierra Chart account.
