Hi,
With recent versions I can't open my charts at all.
I have to go back to 1987 for a functioning, stable Sierra.
In 1991 all I get are two duplicates of the control bars on each window and no actual chart graphics.

Am I the only one to experience this ?

I don't know where to start to debug this one as I've never had any kind of similar issue with Sierra
It applies to all my chartbooks, which all open just fine in 1987.

I can send screenshots later but I don't want to spend my day installing and reinstalling sierra

Same here, I had to downgrade to 1987. With version 1991 my chart books did not work. I could open them but the Trading Chart DOM with the price scale was missing on the right side of the screen. I am using OpenGL. Also all the bars on the chart were absent. I also noticed an unusually high CPU usage in the task manager. So it came as no surprise that Sierra Charts was very sluggish to unusable. Just FYI. Cheers

In regards to post #4 this is related to OpenGL. Simply disable OpenGL. OpenGL at this point is still considered a beta.

I can open my chartbook in pre release 1994 so that is a good sign.
Still have no idea what the problem is and when it is likely to recur.

Look forward to the feedback after testing

We cannot reproduce the problem but we are seeing some graphics display issues with OpenGL involving the Chart DOM. If you are using OpenGL disable that option. Most likely the problem you are having is related to that if you are using OpenGL.

Happened again with 1997 today.
All my windows were like the attached upon first opening.

I closed Sierra down and my chartbook did open on the second time of asking

Edit - it may be caused by my Numbers Bars chart. When I reopened it the calculation time was over 300ms.
I've rebuilt it from scratch and that drops to 11ms. Not sure why, since it is exactly the same

Also make sure you are not using the OpenGL option:

I had OpenGL turned off throughout.

Today upon a PC restart I had the same issue of seeing no charts and double control bars and Numbers Bars chart at a very high calculation time.

I decided to restart with OpenGL turned on and that worked well - so far, no problems and that Numbers Bars chart is down to a 2ms calc time, which is crazy in a good way.

Can I ask is it safe to place live trades with OpenGL on at the moment ??

Therefore, it sounds like the issue you are having is just due to a high CPU usage condition. In that case, help topic 30 will give various things you can do to reduce CPU usage:
High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often

If OpenGL helps, then do use it and that is one of the things that will reduce CPU usage but it is still considered a beta. It can have its problems.
