This happened a couple times when I was trading Sim, But today when I opened my computer, by the time I looked at my DOM, I was down 33 points on the S$P Micros. I had not put this trade in and I NEVER trade without a 5 tick stop so even if it was a trade I had put in and forgotten about, I couldn't be down more than 2 points. Here is the trade log and you can see 2 buy orders that are labeled "unspecified" Why does this happen and how can I make this stop? Those are not any new orders. Those are just missing order fills inserted that were not received in real time. How do I show that Amp received those orders and they were live because my account is down by those order amounts? Do I copy and paste it here from my statement or can you check with them directly? |

You know, I have been trading with a group called Tradeproacademy and one of their trainers had a similar thing happen on Sierra with his live account on a webinar. That was about the time I had it happen on Sim as well. When you go live and it happens, well, good thing I was on the Micros. I have been trying to make sure I switch my DOM back to Sim before shutting down and yesterday was the first I forgot... Has anyone else had this happen?? |

How do I show that Amp received those orders and they were live because my account is down by those order amounts? You need to look for the orders in the Trade Activity Log. Any order submitted from Sierra Chart will have a Status of "Order Sent". Refer to:Trade Activity Log: Viewing Historical Trade Activity And for the record, there is not any type of problem/fault where Sierra Chart is submitting orders when started. But these features could potentially, but very unlikely, do that based on the data which they rely on for submitting orders and the settings for these features: Global Profit/Loss Management Basic Trading and the Trade Window: A >> Flatten And Cancel at Set Time But the problem is that is not the case here from what we see. And you can clearly see in the Trade Activity Log if that was the case. The origin of the order is clearly indicated in the Order Action Source field. Months ago we became aware of a problem when there was an abnormal shutdown of Sierra Chart and simulated orders which were no longer working and not removed from the main orders file because the temporary file which held the current order list was not committed, would still be active upon a restart of Sierra Chart. We fixed that issue but that is only something which would have affected simulation mode. Not live trading. That would be impossible. Is a number like 39076281 a CQG order number? Do you want to find the originating order for these two fills? Fill 2019-08-23 06:00:38.561 F.US.MESU19 CQG fills data (Restored) 1 Buy Unspecified 2924.50 114707 Open 29663318029

This is an order update for the origin of one of the fills: ActivityType DateTime Symbol OrderActionSource InternalOrderID ServiceOrderID OrderType OrderStatus Quantity FilledQuantity FillPrice BuySell Price Price2 TradeAccount OpenClose ParentInternalOrderID PositionQuantity FillExecutionServiceID HighDuringPosition LowDuringPosition Note AccountBalance
With the limited amount of information provided we cannot see the origin of that order. You just need to look through the trade activity log yourself to determine this. You do not even need our help. Just simply go back in time looking for the origin of the orders associated with these fills below and the order given above:Order 2019-08-23 09:26:25.367 F.US.MESU19 CQG order update. What we will say, it is clear, there is not a case here where when you started Sierra Chart, that an order was submitted. That is simply not the case. This was an order or orders that had existed previously.

Can you tell me what I should be looking for? You started by saying that those two "unspecified" buy orders didn't go live and now you are saying they did because they existed previously. What do I look for to tell where they originated? What app do I use to open the .data file? I would think you would also be interested to know what happened in case others have a similar issue. I know even if there was an order left on, it would have included a stop and target because that is the only way I EVER enter a position and no one else has access to my machine.

You started by saying that those two "unspecified" buy orders didn't go live Where did we say this?Anyway, refer to this section here: Trade Activity Log Analysis: Determining the Origin of a New/Modified Order (Determining Origin of Order) Here are the instructions to use the Trade Activity Log: Trade Activity Log: Viewing Historical Trade Activity Once you see the initial entry in the log for the order, then you can provide that line here and then we can see where it originated from. I know even if there was an order left on, it would have included a stop and target because that is the only way I EVER enter a position and no one else has access to my machine. Yes those did exist. Here they are:ActivityType DateTime Symbol OrderActionSource InternalOrderID ServiceOrderID OrderType OrderStatus Quantity FilledQuantity FillPrice BuySell Price Price2 TradeAccount OpenClose ParentInternalOrderID PositionQuantity FillExecutionServiceID HighDuringPosition LowDuringPosition Note AccountBalance

I thought you meant that they didn't go live when you said this - Those are not any new orders. Those are just missing order fills inserted that were not received in real time.
I'm sorry, this is all a learning experience for me and hard to muddle through. I am trying and very concerned. Is there a setting to have Sierra automatically flatten any pending limits when disconnecting from CQG? |

When you exit from Sierra Chart or when you enable Trade Simulation Mode you are already going to get the prompt "You have open orders with your trading service" and you have to confirm to exit.
