I'm testing my ASCIL DLL on a cloud provider, paperspace.io, order to try and track down why it is crashing on my friendly alpha-tester's Windows 10 box. paperspace.io provides Windows cloud VPS. In case there are useful suggestions for troubleshooting these things I will mention that I suspect some kind of DLL-Hell, where my dependencies are different than those installed on her box. Sadly, the venerable depends.exe has no been kept up to date with modern OS, and is no longer a reliable means of tracking down such issues. Anyway, the difficulty I'm having at the moment is simpler. While I can login to SierraChart just fine from hosts, when I try from the paperspace.io (Amsterdam location) host, the SC login always times out. "SierraChart Login Error: Timeout error. There was no response." I have turned off the Windows firewall. To no avail. The IP address of the paperspace.io VPS appears to be 184.105.116.42 I can ping login.sierrachart.com just fine. 12msec roundtrip, no packet loss. Is there something that would be prohibiting SierraChart login from Amsterdam that can be addressed? Perhaps I can configure a proxy--not sure if there are docs on that? Thank you for your assistance. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2019-05-10 16:51:36

This error: the SC login always times out. "SierraChart Login Error: Timeout error. There was no response." is not caused by using Sierra Chart on too many systems at all. This is due to some kind of network connectivity issue from Sierra Chart to the Sierra Chart server. We do not know where the problem would be, but refer to: HTTP Communication Errors Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. We have determined that this timeout error was actually due to logging into an additional system beyond the number of simultaneous systems allowed for your account. So what we said about this being a network connectivity issue was not correct. We do apologize for that. The problem was is that there was not a response from our Web server , therefore triggering the timeout error which always indicates a network connectivity issue. This issue is now resolved. If you are logging into Sierra Chart on too many simultaneous systems at the same time you will now get a text message indicating that. Not a timeout error.
