I'm testing my ASCIL DLL on a cloud provider, paperspace.io, order to try and track down why it is crashing on my friendly alpha-tester's Windows 10 box. paperspace.io provides Windows cloud VPS. In case there are useful suggestions for troubleshooting these things I will mention that I suspect some kind of DLL-Hell, where my dependencies are different than those installed on her box. Sadly, the venerable depends.exe has no been kept up to date with modern OS, and is no longer a reliable means of tracking down such issues. Anyway, the difficulty I'm having at the moment is simpler. While I can login to SierraChart just fine from hosts, when I try from the paperspace.io (Amsterdam location) host, the SC login always times out. "SierraChart Login Error: Timeout error. There was no response." I have turned off the Windows firewall. To no avail. The IP address of the paperspace.io VPS appears to be 184.105.116.42 I can ping login.sierrachart.com just fine. 12msec roundtrip, no packet loss. Is there something that would be prohibiting SierraChart login from Amsterdam that can be addressed? Perhaps I can configure a proxy--not sure if there are docs on that?
