Extra little bar in intraday chart.

To whom it may concern,

Firstly, wanted to say that i love your software, however, i am having a problem with intraday charts.

I have attached a chart of a little bar where i have placed the cross-hair. That bar is the first bar before the open of a particular market. I have set the chart settings to the hour (i.e. start time 13:00:00, end time 12:59:59). It seems like it is 1 second of data on a 6 minute bar (as it is a 6 minute chart).

I have tried everything on your website such as changing the clock settings to different settings including timestamp using local computer and set system date-time from server. I have also checked my windows time to check to see if that is configured to update through the internet.I have not had any luck.

I also tried changing the start and date times by one second and still had no luck. I think it is that 1 second between 12:59:59 and 13:00:00 that the software is not recognising.

Are able to please assist me with this issue or direct to somewhere on your website which can correct this?

The start time is 13:00:00.

The bar in the image appears for both when the market is about to open for the day session and for the evening session.

Therefore set the Session End Time to 12:53:59. Clearly you do not want to see that bar if it is a problem for you. There is obviously insufficient data there.

This does not fix the problem as now you are emitting data.

What i am trying to say is this is a bug in your system if there is no fix for it, and affects the bar data when you export it for analysis.

That bar should be part of the 13:00:00 bar. I have a friend who has CQG Intergrated Client who does not get this issue and does not have data on a previous bar like this where it shouldn't be.

This does not make sense. There is no problem from our side. Anyway, we are drawing the line here. If Sierra Chart does not meet your requirements because you are looking for it to work in an incorrect way, then please discontinue use. We are not here to listen to nonsense.

Although maybe there is a data time stamping issue. Post an image of the chart following these instructions:

What we need you to do is to set the chart bars to 1 second per bar and find out the timestamp of the data of that particular short range bar. Once you have that information let us know and then we can tell you how to adjust the Session Times to work around this.

But to say there is something we need to solve on our side is completely missing the point.

Okay good we will go through this and also compare to our own Hong Kong data because we have Hong Kong data as well and see what we can figure out in regards to this.

We have looked at this and based on the fact that the exchange is transmitting numerous trades with a timestamp of 12:59:00, it is necessary to set the Start Time to 12:59:00 and use an End time of 11:59:59 or 12:58:59
