Hi

Seems to be an obvious misprint of the opening bar for eurusd using SC Forex Data (FXCM). I have noticed an issue with other crosses as well.

eurusd data i am receiving at 533pm NYC Sunday Evening -

Open - 135222 High - 135222 Low - 134685

Thanks

Hi

Here is another example - Pre open for all crosses using SC Forex Data (FXCM) there was a bar present on the daily charts that should not have been there. When the market opens, it continues to use this bar, but I have no idea where the bar is coming from because it just plain shouldn't be there.

As you can see in the picture examples below, eurusd should have gapped up this evening (NYC) but for what ever reason it has kept the bar there that was there pre open and printed on that??

Obviously this is creating totally wrong print.

Could it have anything to do with time zone set to New York and computer clock set to Brisbane Australia?? not sure just grasping at straws.

I dont have this problem with the same setting with futures markets.

Thanks

You need to realize how difficult these kinds questions are and how much time it takes to even fully understand what the specific issue is someone is describing. We also do not control the data and there are various sources of data. So it takes time to even understand the source of data you are looking at to begin with.

Based on certain assumptions, we did have a quick look at the data. The data is from FXCM, assuming that is the data source you are using for historical daily data and it is what it is. We do not control it. We do not see any obvious problems ourselves. All we are concerned with, is there are no extremely obvious errors, and the data provided by FXCM is properly being presented. If all is good, there is no issue for us to help with and we will not provide further help. We do not get involved in all these little details about market data. These issues generally are very unproductive for us.

And in the end, once we fully understand a particular issue presented, all that we can do is just explain to you what is going on. There isn't anything we can do. And if there is something that we can do, then it takes a lot of time to understand time zones and the specific data and the particular user configuration to try to arrive at some solution in order to make the user happy. This is difficult and time-consuming. We support numerous Data and Trading services each with their own behaviors which magnifies this complexity even further.

In general these questions are not within the scope of our support and we should not be relied upon to answer these questions.

We are marking this as a user discussion and leaving the thread.

We realize that you are probably asking about why the open price of the day is the same as the close price of the prior day. This is all documented here:
