How can I make my chart refresh most effciently? Is it a good idea to run first Sierra instance just to receive and process datafeed stream with no charts and second instance to run the charts from first instance as data server? Or using such configuration would give additional lag? Thanks

Refer to the Chart Update Interval setting: General Settings Window: Chart Update Interval (Global Settings >> General Settings >> General >> Update Intervals) Unless you have a high CPU usage condition in one instance of Sierra Chart there is no need to run an additional instance. Yes I know Sierra is fast end efficient platform and I know chart interval setting but i wanted to know if such load balancing setup (first instance as data processer and second as chart interface) is better setup by default or it will only add extra lag? Im aware that there is a sweet spot in setting chart interval where setting it too small will have an opposite effect where CPU would refresh the chart constantly having no time for processing new data from datafeed. But thats the reason I tought it would be a good idea to split these tasks. My problem is Im experiencing loosing live bid/ask depth data (in comparison with my friend's charts using same datafeed what can be seen for example on BidAsk Depth Bars study, where he has quite fluent candle changes and I have many big candle spikes and our depth levels are different in many spots). |

The only solution is to use the SC Exchange Data Feed: Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. And do you have any technical explanation why it would be the only solution? If I have problems with platform efficiency or maybe ping to datafeed is not right how using SC DataFeed would help me then. I think I should manage my platform/charts issue so Id be grateful of you could answer for my load balancing question. Thanks

If the CQG server is dropping data there is probably nothing you can do on your side to solve that. However, we have full documentation on CQG data problems here: CQG Trading Platform Service: Solving CQG Market Data Feed Problems Check the state of the CQG option Allow Server to Drop Data.
