In the newest Versions of SC (today 1635), is it still possible to somehow refer to either "true OHLC" OR/vs. "Renko Open/Close" in Alert formulae? During all the recent discussions and changes I took your advice and began changing/using "ID0.SG22-23" in some of my formulae where necessary for "Renko Open/Close"(i.e. the graphically printed "body"), but also kept simple "O-H-L-C" in others("true" or non-"manipulated" price, as you call it) where I felt the distinction was proper/necessary for my particular conceptual and strategic requirements. I was most appreciative of your teaching me the difference through the Forum discussions, and realized I need both. Some of my alerts/highlights no longer work, esp. when, for instance, a Renko bar has been designated by default an "Up" bar because the "Renko Open > Renko Close", whereas the "internal" values show "Last/close < Open". I would like to be able to still differentiate in different formulae as I see fit. |

Just to be a bit more specific if it helps with my query. I've attached a screenshot of Flex Renko 10-9-1 from Version 1632 with two(2)simple Color Bar Fill alert studies. 1: Brt.Green if "=C>O" and 2: Brt.Red if "=C<O". For example, if a trend "run" is Up, bars by default are painted dark green. Most of them have the same Open and Close but still conform to the Flex Renko code for continued trend and remain dark green. Some, even though also still conforming to trend code, however, have "internal" numbers (which I can read in my "Chart Values for Tools")where the "C>O" or "C<O" and they are duly and accurately highlighted. They are "filled" as per the simple added alerts. This is something I like to be able to see for my particular purposes, and can thus use that info further in some of my more complex(not very!) alert formulae. Works the same, obviously, for designated "Down" trends painted by default dark red. Screenshot #2 is from today's newest V. 1635. Same chart, same simple alert formulae "C>O" results in ALL bars of a given Up"Trend" highlighted Brt. green and conversely, all Down "trend" runs "filled" Brt. red by "C<O". I reckon that is because "C" now refers to "Renko Close" only and "O" refers to "Renko Open" only, which, by definition/code always has "Up" is "C>O" and Down" is "C<O". I'd sure like to be able to have the option of using some kind of "ID" to continue to "differentiate" in my other alert formulae between "Renko (body) Open/Close" and the actual O-H-L-C which are presented in the Chart Values for Tools Window. http://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1509819395839.png http://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1509822359224.png |

In the newest Versions of SC (today 1635), is it still possible to somehow refer to either "true OHLC" OR/vs. "Renko Open/Close" in Alert formulae? No, and we are confused by this, because we thought we were helping when we added the Open and Close identifiers refer to the Renko Open and Close. We can restore it the way it was. Thank you very much for addressing this so promptly. I'm not sure what the words "....would be had..." mean in your answer (maybe a quick-typing error), but I interpret it as "we thought we were helping by having the Open and Close identifiers refer to the Renko Open and Close." And I sure appreciate your saying you can/will restore the option of using either/both the "actual" Open/Close data as identifiers as well as the graphically "painted" Renko Open/Close(perhaps retaining "ID0.SG22-23" ?) as per classic "box" size. This should return the greater flexibility for Alert formulae, spreadsheets, etc., satisfy many SC subscribers, while at the same time retain the other overall improvements to Renko that you've been making these last few weeks. |

There was a dictation error. This is what we meant to say: because we thought we were helping when we added the Open and Close identifiers refer to the Renko Open and Close.
And I sure appreciate your saying you can/will restore the option of using either/both the "actual" Open/Close data as identifiers as well as the graphically "painted" Renko Open/Close(perhaps retaining "ID0.SG22-23" ?) Yes we are planning this.
