Hi, I have set 'Trade simulation mode on', but I'm not getting any quotes, the current quote window is empty. I tried ESZ17 or just IBM and nothing is happening. If I place a trade in DOM, it's just sitting there, but my charts display the data correctly, with about 30 min delay. What do I need to do to get the trading simulator working? In the trade activity log I get - 'open orders request from trading service was not processed by service client' I'm using service "SC Data - All Services" I tried to Disconnect and Connect to Data Feed many times, it doesn't help. What am I missing? thanks. |

For an understanding of Trade Simulation Mode, refer to: Trade Simulation It has nothing to do with real-time data. For real-time data you need to use the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed: Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed Or another supported Data/Trading service: Supported Data and Trading Services Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. I've never said I want real time data. I was just saying that I do get data on my chars, but my orders don't get filled. I just want the trade simulator to work, it currently doesn't. After I place a trade it just sits in the Dom and doesn't ever get a fill. Have you even read my question? I've already read your first linked document. It doesn't help. I followed the instructions in it as I've said in my original question. All I want is to have the simulator working so I can get a feel for your platform before I sign up, but this first support reply is not encouraging. I hope you can help me figure it out. Thanks. |

I've never said I want real time data There is no other reasonable interpretation other than to conclude you are asking for real-time data. This is what you said: Hi, I have set 'Trade simulation mode on', but I'm not getting any quotes, the current quote window is empty. I tried ESZ17 or just IBM and nothing is happening. If I place a trade in DOM, it's just sitting there, but my charts display the data correctly, with about 30 min delay. The order is not going to be filled, unless the chart is replaying or there is streaming data being received. You are asking for real-time data for futures and stocks. And we gave you the relevant information. Here it is again: For real-time data you need to use the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed: Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed Or another supported Data/Trading service: Supported Data and Trading Services Have you even read my question? I've already read your first linked document. It doesn't help. I followed the instructions in it as I've said in my original question. All I want is to have the simulator working so I can get a feel for your platform before I sign up, but this first support reply is not encouraging. Yes of course we read it. That is abundantly clear.

Again, I never implied real time data. I don't care if the data is real time, it can be delayed or historical as long as I can place an order, see it filled, closed, canceled, etc. what is the point of a trial if I can't even do that? One of your links says "Historical tick by tick Intraday data is also provided for popular futures contracts from the CME, Eurex and ICE and for US stocks (NYSE and NASDAQ)" So, can it be used? Also, In your original reply you didn't mention anything about replaying the data to be able to fill orders. ( As I said, I don't need real time, I was fine with delayed or past time.) Now that's a link a could have used - how to repay data? And it's now abundantly clear that we have a case of total misunderstanding here. |

Yes, you do need to perform a chart replay and we forgot to initially give you that link. Here it is: Replaying Charts Normally users want real-time data and we do not normally think of providing the replay documentation. You can also for now use the included Forex and CFD data which is real-time: Sierra Chart Real Time and Historical Forex and CFD Data Service Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support.
