I'm taking anywhere from 30 seconds to a couple of minutes to load a chart. In the message log I'm seeing this a lot: SC Market Stats server: Lost the connection to the server. | 2013-09-09 07:37:57 I'm also getting the "NOT RESPONDING" blue circle when I switch from say daily to weekly charts and a long pause to load. SC has always been pretty quick for me so I'm not sure what is happening there. Also, my long term charts of the SPY are now just a flat green line because there is a 20,000 print on one of the bars, plus the chart isn't loading the time axis right anyway. Any suggestions to deleting that bar? I tried to reload the chart but it took a couple of minutes and gave me the same data. |

For the long Chartbook or chart load time, refer to help topic 30 here: Http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/helpdetails30.html The reason you are losing the connection is because Sierra Chart is busy with processing when changing the timeframe of the chart bars from daily to weekly. However, that should not take long to do. Apparently, there is some study on the chart causing this. Help topic 30 will help with this. The best approach to this issue is to close all of your Chartbooks and charts and start completely fresh with a single chart and gradually build up your setup to determine where the problem is. This could also be caused by antivirus and anti-malware software. The SPY daily chart is the culprit. The mystery $20,000.00 share price on my SPY chart is causing the slowdown. Has anyone ever had this? This chart is also the slowest to load and is the culprit for the slow performance overall because when I delete the chart SC works fine. That one bar is so huge it makes the chart unusable. If I change it to any other symbol it works but if I change it to the SPY it's screwed up. Also that chart was loading 4500 days so I've fixed that. Could it be a data issue from IB's shotty server or the terminally messed up TWS? If I switch to a shorter time frame it works fine, daily and weekly is the issue. |

It is not that value in and of itself which is causing a problem. There must be some study on the chart that you are using which is being adversely affected by that value and causing the high CPU usage and slow loading.

I have the same problem on my Spy daily chart a large spike to 16000 shows up on around 9/6 making daily chart unusable so far have not figured out how to delete that day or data. Fixed by switching to Sierra historical data. Must be IB data error.
