Hi there,

New to Sierra, trying to connect to my currenex account.... Getting the following error constantly in the message log...

Looks like a SSL issue to me? I have placed certificates in Sierra chart data folder and put the names in the settings, however there is no documentation to which format these have to be in. But have tried both .CER and .P7b

Give us about a day to get this working. With the new network socket communication core that Sierra Chart has, we did not yet implement certificate support.

We have finished with this. The changes will be out by morning and the version will be 1611. This will be a prerelease.

Also the certificates need to be in a PEM file which contains both the public and private keys.

The PEM files need to be located in the Sierra Chart main program root folder and no longer the Data folder.

Thank you Sierrachart for implementing these changes. I didnt realise you had done so as I thought I would receive and email when a reply was posted on this thread so apologies with the late thanks! Fabulous service, very impressed!

I still cannot connect however, I was wondering if I am doing something wrong. I have converted my pfx certificates to pem with no passcode/phrase and put them in the root sierra folder as requested.

I have attached logs.

Any help you can offer will be great. Thank you!

The only thing that we can tell which could be a problem is we see we are using TLS 1.0 instead of TLS 1.2 to connect to the trading server. We have change that to 1.2. This will be out in the next release.

Hi there,

Still getting the same error message. Could it be something to do with my certificates?

To export my certificate with private key it must be exported to pfx format. I am then using openssl to convert his to the pem file you specify.

Any pointers? I could be doing something wrong I guess?

We really do not know what to say about this. From our position, the only thing we can do is control the TLS version number.

Find out from Currenex what the TLS version number is for both their market data server and their trading server and let us know and we will make sure those are correct.

In regards to any certificate issues, work with Currenex on that. And just tell them the error messages you are seeing in the Sierra Chart Message Log relating to TLS.
