Finding symbols

Hi, I have a problem finding and loading data for symbols I have prepaid data for (for example AL, LD, all the forex futures such as A6,B6, etc.- honestly, most of the symbols, that should be there are not there) I am using "Find symbol" but none of these are to be found there. I am even using symbol names as you are here: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SierraChart_RealTime_And_Historical_Symbols.php&SymbolsPage=Futures#comex I pay for the Comex, CXMI, CME, GBLX data feeds. Any help on this one please? |

Since you are using Interactive Brokers, the actively traded futures contract symbols are listed in File >> Find Symbol. Since you are using Interactive Brokers the symbols are going to be different. Certainly all of the major CME currency futures symbols are listed. There is hardly any trading in aluminum or lead. Reference: http://www.cmegroup.com/trading/metals/base/aluminum_contract_specifications.html You are best off just looking at historical Daily charts for aluminum and lead which are available using the standard symbols. Thanks. I would expect to be able to load data for all the symbols that you are listing here: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SierraChart_RealTime_And_Historical_Symbols.php&SymbolsPage=Futures, since I am paying for the data. You as a platform provider do not need to be worried about trading activity in any symbol since that is not the issue I am facing. Let me just load the data that are supposed to be availible. Let me please repeat my question - how do I get data for symbols that I am supposed to have according to this link: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SierraChart_RealTime_And_Historical_Symbols.php&SymbolsPage=Futures ? You bet I am not trying to download tick data for aluminium. Thank you in advance. |

You as a platform provider do not need to be worried about trading activity in any symbol since that is not the issue I am facing. Let me just load the data that are supposed to be availible. We do because of unnecessary symbols which slow down the process of finding symbols by users, lower performance on both the server and client sites, and work effort to set up Symbol Settings for symbols that no one looks at.To access all of the symbols, you cannot set Sierra Chart to Interactive Brokers. We will not set up Symbol Settings for all of the symbols for that service. This is out of the question. You need to set Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Service to SC Data - All Services.. You will then find the corresponding symbols in File >> Find Symbol.
