Hi, I may have asked this before.

First can I load an individual option into an intraday graph? I piggyback off of TD Ameritrade. I tried but no luck so far.

Second, how can I plot an individual options "implied volatility" in a graph like anything else? Not historical but implied.

Thanks

TT

We do not think option symbols with the TD Ameritrade API Sierra Chart supports are going to work. We have seen problems with this.

You really need to use Interactive Brokers instead if you are interested in stock options.

Not sure how implied volatility can be done. Sierra Chart does not have any direct simple support for that.

I have IB also...so find the option symbol from IB and insert in the normal way into a chart? Can SC have a study for implied volatility? you have it for historical.

Thanks

So do get this to work, I would need to use IB as the source for Data/Trade Service Settings. I currently use
TD Ameritrade and when I switched over to IB, SC wouldn't give the green light and log in properly. TD Ameritrade is fine and has been for a long time, but when I try IB, it keeps trying to log in it looks like, and then tries again over and over without success. I guess the options in a chart won't work if IB isnt set properly, right? So lets not get ahead of ourselves until IB seems to work.

Thanks

Tom

Yes this is right.

What we recommend you do is install another copy of Sierra Chart as explained here:
Using Multiple Data and Trading Services at the Same Time

And then set it to work with Interactive Brokers. Here are the instructions for that:

I got an option to plot in a chart, thanks. Does SC have the ability to calculate and plot "implied volatilities"? Available anywhere?
