When attempting to update Sierra to the latest version, using > Help-Download Current Version < The following happens: The software is downloaded and then I close Sierra. The installer window opens and when I install the update, I get an error message: “SierraChartFileDownloader.exe has stopped working” I have tried to download the file from the Software Download section but get the same error. I can’t see the relevant log message. Your assistance would be appreciated. |

The problem is caused by a program called Bandwidth Guard on your system. It is causing an access violation within the Sierra Chart File Downloader program. Remove or disable it from your system.

In the screenshot you attached, you can see the name of that program as a filename and that is what is causing the problem. Maybe the actual name of the program is different.
