Upon upgrade to v1522 from v1510, I notice that it takes a long time to update my historical chart (daily weekly etc). There was no problem with v1510. Pls find below the message log. We are observing the problem from the Message Log, but it makes no sense why it is occurring. At this point we recommend you restart your computer. In the next release 1526 which will be out tomorrow, we have made some changes which will log the reason why this problem is occurring and automatically cause a socket error in this case. We now know what the problem is. There is a communication problem from Sierra Chart on your system to the Barchart historical data server. Most likely this is caused by a firewall. Another user had the same problem yesterday and this is what they said: You mentioned that it appeared to be a "communication problem" with my computer, so I disabled avast antivirus while loading charts. Now it works. Must have been an update with avast that caused issue. Weird behavior because forex charts and some continuous futures charts would load fine, while others would get hung-up. Will just disable avast for now when loading future charts. Thanks for your help, have a great weekend!

The charts loaded properly after I disable the avast antivirus. Looks like the problem is with Avast antivirus. Can you do something about it? Also, do I have to disable antivirus when I add/remove new studies, add a new symbol etc.? I didn't receive any notification email on your above replies. Can you check what happened? |

No we cannot do anything about that. The antivirus program is apparently affecting only network communication. So it can affect historical data downloads.
