Most likely this is because there is too much memory being used or too many charts open. What version of Sierra Chart are you running? How much memory is being used by Sierra Chart. You can tell by looking in the Windows Task Manager. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. 1513 , memory is high at 1700mb , same charts for a while , memory seems to creep up on newer builds , hearing this from few others too . opens at around 400mb and creeps up to 1700-2000mb in about 30 min , does not do this on 1508 build , which i guess il stay at for a while cause we are getting a good amount of things happening on 1510 and up builds thanks |

There are definitely no memory issues in newer versions. The memory that is being used is based upon what you are doing with Sierra Chart. opens at around 400mb and creeps up to 1700-2000mb in about 30 min , does not do this on 1508 build ,
This cannot possibly be the case if you are doing the same thing between the two versions. This is not a credible claim.

Same problem here. I've noticed strange behaviour of 1510 release. Memory peeks over 3GB, CPU is ca. 12% almost all the time. I get unhandled exception errors, and Sierra freezes when trying to recalculate chart. See screens attached. None of that problems on previous releases. My system: 16GB RAM, i7 CPU BR Date Time Of Last Edit: 2017-02-03 23:18:44

i understand about custom studies , but the point of the matter is i open 1508 with chartbook , non issue , i open 1510 and above and all kinds of issues ,so in basic logic that tells me its a build issue , maybe with a study sure but still a build issue . beleive me im not wasting ur time or mine by posting , i am simply looking for solution . i am a big asset to your business wheather you know who i am or not , and i just want a little more service , then just pushing it off on something else

There may be a problem that we are not recognizing. Although if there genuinely is, we would be quite dumbfounded by this. It is exactly the opposite of what we would expect. We are thinking about the best way to go about analyzing this. Since we have the clearest information from User330463, we will work with them on this. User330463 provide the main Chartbook you work with by following these instructions here: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=PostingInformation.php#AttachFile It can be privately attached. This problem might be specific to CQG users. It might have something to do with Open SSL. We made a change in the latest prerelease which should solve this if that is the problem. Update with Help >> Download Prerelease. Let us know if you see any further evidence of the problem. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Hi, Attached pls find my chartbook. I do have CQG data. Fwiw there weren't any problems during my work through weekend - so without pulling live data. No significant CPU load and memory leaking. So I agree with you the problem can be somewhere on live data pulling implementation. Pls ask if I can help in any other way. BR |

Before checking we will wait and see if you have a problem still. Also we see no evidence why there would be any problems with CQG when using 1510. So we do not think it is that. We have identified a potential synchronization issue in the latest prereleases involving the DTC server. If you are not using this, it will not cause a problem at all. If you are, there is the small potential for some instability. There should not be any issue with 1510 or earlier. We should have this resolved in about a day. User330463, In regards to post #12, we do not observe any problem testing that Chartbook. When you can, try prerelease version 1516 and let us know if you still see a problem. Avoid version 1516 at this time. There still is some problem which can cause a freezing condition. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support.
