Symbol: ZRU16 I'm not able to get any data older than july of 2015. Am I doing something wrong? |

Are you referring to an Intraday or Historical Daily chart?

Give us one of the symbols which is not providing any data. We tested a 2012 ZR symbol and received historical daily data. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Symbol: ZRU16 I think I know what could be the problem. When I select "Edit -> Delete all data and download", the software only ask me "Re-download all historical daily data for ZRU16". It doesn't say anything about continuous futures contracts like it does in every other futures chart. So I think the software doesn't recognize this asset as a futures contracts one. Still I don't know how to solve the problem. I can't get any data before July of 2015. |

When I first opened SC the chart looked fine. Then at some point I updated the Symbol Settings and now the chart doesn't work at all =( This is how the chart looks now: http://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1470378274728.png I already tried to update the Symbol several times, deleting and download all data, etc etc... |

The multiplier for the real-time data feed was not set correctly. This is now corrected. Follow through these instructions again including reconnecting to the data feed: Global Symbol Settings: Update Symbol Settings Once this is done go to the chart and select Chart >> Reload and it should now display properly. If I click "duplicate chart", then the new chart looks fine. If on that new chart I click "Reload and recalculate" or I change the number of days to load, then it looks bad again. Even if I don't do anything everytime it automatically reloads for whatever reason it looks bad again. Not really a good solution.

Looking good now. Thanks a lot. I'm having a very similar issue with the next symbols now. I think the software doesn't recognize these symbols as future contracts: ZKU16 (Ethanol futures) DLU16 (Milk Class III futures) LSU16 (Lumber futures) Can you please sort these out too? Thanks in advance |

Yeah sorry that's what I meant. Historical charts of these assets don't show more than a few months of data.

I also cannot get Class III Milk (DA/DL) to work and I'm quite certain I have the contract setup correctly: <settings>

Class III milk is now set up on our server. But it is necessary to use the actual CME symbol in the Symbol Settings: http://www.cmegroup.com/trading/agricultural/dairy/class-iii-milk_contract_specifications.html The SC Data Symbol always uses the actual CME symbol and not the Barchart symbol. The historical chart symbol does use the Barchart symbol. We set up cash settled butter but the CME is not providing any listed contracts for it in the security definition file. Or they are only pit traded. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Try to keep your questions brief and to the point. Thanks. For class III milk I am using the SC symbol though (which is listed as the barchart symbol in this case): http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SierraChart_RealTime_And_Historical_Symbols.php&SymbolsPage=Futures#CME I switched to DC under SC internal symbol setting (but kept DL for historical). Should there be zero data on intraday? Butter isn't really that necessary, but rough rice does trade for people and probably would be good to make sure is there. |

These class III milk prices are not looking right btw - on an intraday I see 1610 when it should be 16.10. For some strange reason this last bar has wrecked my daily charts too (as price went from 16.10 to 1610). I deleted the data and reloaded already, same issue.

We have corrected the Symbol Settings for this symbol. Follow the instructions to update the Symbol Settings: Global Symbol Settings: Update Symbol Settings Also, the Intraday data only begins as of yesterday because that is when we set it up. We could add more data, but only if it is absolutely necessary. That is not such an easy process and it does take away time from other work. Any chance you can tell me the exact setting that was changed? I'd rather do it manually than have a symbol update risk overwriting my rollover rules for symbols that don't have them.

I updated the symbol and I still have a huge bar on historical charts and the intraday show 1500-1600 type prices. <settings> <service-code>ib</service-code> <symbol>DA-######-GLOBEX-USD-2000</symbol> <historical-chart-symbol>DL?##</historical-chart-symbol> <use-pattern-matching-characters>true</use-pattern-matching-characters> <contract-months>FGHJKMNQUVXZ</contract-months> <description>Class III Milk Futures - CME</description> <category>Futures</category> <value-format-code>2</value-format-code> <tick-size>0.01</tick-size> <currency-value-per-tick>20</currency-value-per-tick> <error-filtering>true</error-filtering> <default-order-quantity>1</default-order-quantity> <rollover-method>Method10</rollover-method> <rollover-input-1>2</rollover-input-1> <sc-data-symbol>DC?##</sc-data-symbol> <sc-data-symbol-multiplier>0.01</sc-data-symbol-multiplier> <sc-data-srvcode>cme</sc-data-srvcode> </settings> And as predicted my rollover rules for W (White Sugar) and London Cocoa just got changed after update so it's not the case that rollover rules are left alone (and I do not have overwrite all settings enabled). I had also opened a thread 2 weeks ago to fix those symbols (Please fix White Sugar and London Cocoa rollover specs) - but suffice to say rollover rules are never safe with symbol updates from what I've observed. Try it, go to W sugar, set a random rollover rule then hit symbol update and watch it disappear. Anyway, the milk thing is still an issue. If I set the chart's historical price multiplier to 0.01 it then looks correct but then the historical charts are all wrong (and also have a giant bar on them that just wrecks the chart). |

What we said is this: If Sierra Chart does not provide rollover rules, then any rollover rules you have defined will remain the same. Here is a historical chart of milk futures using the real-time data feed and it looks correct for us: http://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1474565955452.png This chart is being updated with real-time data. We do not see why there would be any problem at this point in time as long as the symbol settings are updated and you have reconnected to the data feed.
