This thread will be used to describe the near-term development we are working on. 1. The ability to select the trade account in a chart or Trade DOM to use when submitting orders. There are a lot of details to this and we expect it will be ready by early next week. 2. The sending of alert messages as SMS messages. This will require a direct account and require that you have an additional services balance on your account. 3. Setting a text phrase on an Alert Number and have it be converted to speech. This will require a direct account and require that you have an additional services balance on your account. 4. We are continuing with our development of the new high-performance Spreadsheet functionality. And the removal of .NET and external data/trading service API components from Sierra Chart. We are getting close to completion. This is a major task and is going to be a major improvement for Sierra Chart. 5. Some small improvements to TPO Profile Charts. More details will follow. 6. Ongoing development related to supporting our CME data feed for users of funded trading accounts. This is a major task and we cannot make any promises that this will absolutely come. However, it is our clear and strong intention that it will come. Please do not comment on the development we are currently working on. We will not respond to it. It only takes away time from our development. The fewer questions we have on this Support Board, the more time we have for development. 1. Part of this new functionality is the ability to separate orders, positions, fills and account balances by trade account. In the case of TransAct users, you have a choice of Live or Simulated Live when connecting to your TransAct account. These use 2 slightly different Account IDs. With these changes, all of the order fills between Live and Simulated Live will be separated so they are not mixed together. 4.1. Advantages when Sierra Chart removes .NET: Zero dependency on the Microsoft .NET framework. This does not have to be installed on a system. Instantaneous startup. Overall better performance. Although not to a point where this would be noticeable for most users. One way that Sierra Chart performance can be improved is make sure that any antivirus/anti-malware/third-party firewall programs are disabled or are set not to interfere with Sierra Chart. Much better spreadsheet performance. Zero startup issues due to no external dependencies. Although start up issues are not common to begin with. No reliance on the Microsoft Visual C++ redistributable package. This also eliminates start up issues. Sierra Chart will be 100 percent self-contained within its own folder and have no external dependencies at all. This makes backup, transfer and restoring a very simple process of working with a single folder. More reliable and compatible on other operating systems like GNU/Linux. For us, our code base is all very consistent native C++ code, which is easy and fast to debug, maintain and develop. Compiler and linking problems and slow compiling, are eliminated. 7. We are releasing support this coming week to connect to CTS through a FIX connection. The version will be 998. Initially this will be a prerelease. When you update to version 998 you will need to do the following: 7.1. Select File >> Disconnect. 7.2. Go to Global Settings >> Symbol Settings. Press the Full Reset button. Press OK. Wait for the symbol list to fill up with symbols. Press OK. 7.3. Open your Chartbooks and then go to each chart and trade DOM and select Chart >> Chart Settings. Press the Find button beside the Symbol box and select the updated symbol format from the list of the available symbols. Press OK. 7.4 Once you update all of your symbols, select File >>Connect to Data Feed. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Version 998 has now been released. This now supports multiple trade accounts and CTS FIX. This is a pre-release, and has had extensive development done on it. We do not recommend updating to it during the trading day if you are performing trading. It should be used as a 2nd copy on your system or updated to over the weekend. Update: We have made some revisions and have updated a new revision of 998. We have completed the testing with OEC and did some additional work and multiple accounts support with OEC should be working properly now. To access all of the accounts on the logged in username for the Trading service you are using, select them from the list of accounts on the Trade >> Open Trade Window for Chart. Normally where the account number would display, is now a drop-down list. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. A small bug was found where the order fills will not load into the chart/Trade DOM if the Trade Account was not set at the time the chart data was being loaded. This would prevent Order fills and trade statistics from displaying in the chart, and prevent the order fill calculated position from working. This has been resolved. And a new revision has been uploaded. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Try to keep your questions brief and to the point. At this point, we have completed the first phase of multiple trade account support. All the latest development is in version 1004. Currently when you change accounts on the Trade Window, this will not affect what orders are displayed on the chart or Trade DOM. You will see all orders for all accounts. In the next phase, we will work to filter working orders by the selected Trade Account. During this coming week, we are going to focus on many things. We will try to complete SMS messaging and Text to speech alerts. We are also going to be working on GSP and support for the CME data feed. We did not get to SMS messaging and text-to-speech alerts this week. We will try for next week. At this point, there is an absolute freeze for any new suggestions. Any new suggestions posted on this board will not receive a response although will be briefly reviewed. We must allocate as much time as we can to our critical development to completed before the end of the year. Thank you for your understanding. If there any tiny improvements, or any bugs found, we will attend to those. Otherwise, as we said we will not be responding to any new suggestions for the time being. We are going to aggressively work on getting the new CME data feed out within the next 45 to 60 days. This will be available as an option to those with funded trading accounts. The price is expected to be 35 USD per month. It will be an option that can be used with any Sierra Chart package. If the option is enabled in the middle of the month, this amount will be prorated. This data feed will be fully and seamlessly integrated with the trading service you are already using. There will be no configuration needed to use it. This data feed will only be accessible if you are able to successfully connect to your trading service. This is the method by which we know you have a funded trading account or a demo account provided by your broker. In the case of Interactive Brokers, you will only be able to use an Interactive Brokers live account to get this data feed. Not a paper trading account or demo account. We are not able to reliably distinguish between a paper trading account and a demo account, and Interactive Brokers provides unlimited access to their demo accounts. So we have to block access in each of these cases. This is going to be a very good data feed and we are letting everyone know about it now in order to build up support for it because it has a very high cost to us. Our breakeven point on it is going to be around 200 users. We do not expect to earn any money off of this. The primary reason for this is to provide a quality data feed for trading. Still did not get to SMS messaging and text to speech alerts. We will try again this week. Just shows how busy we actually are. In regards to the CME data feed that we have been talking about. This definitely is something that is going to almost certainly become a reality. We are ordering the server hardware for this, this week. Although we are quite displeased with Microsoft and their new unstable and changing user interface operating systems. So we are planning to run Linux for the CME data feed server software. So this is going to set us back a little time because we have to make some code changes to support Linux. We feel it is worth the effort though because it lays the foundation for a much more solid platform going forward. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. We still have not gotten to SMS messaging or Text to speech alerts. Always something coming up which takes priority. What we are working on now is millisecond time stamping. Sierra Chart already has partial support for this. We are now going to be completing all of the details of this. One thing to keep in mind is that once this gets released, all users that are using services which rely upon Sierra Chart historical data server protocols will need to update to the current version of Sierra Chart. Otherwise, there can be small tiny imperfections with the downloading of historical data and building of chart bars. This was one of these complications which was deferring this.
