Hi support, I have subscribed to some new exchanges, including CBOE and MNTRL. I am having trouble with a few futures symbols. 1) VX - The only volatility futures I see are under VIX?##, however I get a symbol not recognized error when I try to use one of these. I had some success after searching the forums, by entering the symbol for a specific expiration manually. What ended up working was "VIX-20160420-CFE-USD-1000". My question for this one is: Is there a way to have VIX symbols work correctly in the future or will I always need to manually figure out the expiration day and enter the symbol myself? I am connected to Interactive Brokers. 2) CG - While I am connected to my broker, the Canadian 10 year bond is not showing up in my symbol list. I am able to get the data if I open a new instance of sierrachart and connect to the "SC Data - All Services" data feed. But now this instance is not connected to my trading account, so I can't get CME data from this instance. This means I need to keep two instances of sierrachart open and connected to get all of the data I need. Is it ok to do it this way or does this count as a second connection? Am I doing something wrong? Hope this is clear. |

1. You have to use VIX-20160420-CFE-USD-1000 to be able to trade from the chart. You will always have to manually specify the day of month when you open a new chart. 2. Do you know what the Interactive Brokers symbol is for the Canadian 10 year bond. We will set up the mapping for it to solve this. We can find the symbol, but it will help us if you can give us the IB symbol. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Hi support, Just to be clear, I don't intend on trading either of these at the moment, I just need to be able to get the VIX data and 10 yr cnd bond data and chart them. The symbol for the Canadian 10 yr bond is CGB ( from https://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/index.php?f=2222&ns=T&exch=cde&showcategories=IND ) |

1. We see that you did not activate the exchange for this. This is CFE Futures. 2. This is now added. Restart Sierra Chart. Or update the Symbol Settings: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_GlobalSymbolSettings.php#UpdateSettings Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. 1) It looks like this was my mistake, I was mixing up the index and the futures. The index is sufficient for my purposes and is working fine. Sorry about that! 2) The 10 yr bond futures are working now. Thank you! |
