Hi guys, Quick description of what I am experiencing is that once an order is filled on the Sierra DOM the filled order disappears off the DOM after approximately 3 seconds and then the DOM does not show an open position in the market at all. The order gets filled and shows up in TWS and then once the trade is exited the same thing happens. So basically there are no issues with the order itself it’s the open position that’s not showing on the DOM once filled. In fact the DOM thinks I am flat so for example if I am long and then close the trade with a sell it shows on the DOM as a short for approximately 3 seconds and then disappears and shows I am flat. The DOM also shows no activity for the day once flat. The thing is that there are two users, a master and secondary user. The secondary user DOM works 100% showing all activity on the day and also showing live open trades. We have gone through as much of the settings as possible comparing user 2 TWS with the master TWS and the sierra setting on both PC’s and no luck. At first I was fine with it but once user two got set up and we realized it works I see no need for it not to leave it this way. Another issue is that in Trade Log the trade data is not showing I have two snapshots which I have attached as an example to show you the errors. One is of the Trade Services Log and the other of the Trade Activity Log Kind Regards Dean |

Do you see the Positions displayed on the Trade >> Trade Orders and Positions >> Positions tab for the market you are trading? Are the Symbol, Trade Account and Quantity fields all correct for the Position? If not, what is incorrect about them. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. I opened the Trade Orders and Positions and decided to do a few live test trades and started with a market I don't trade at all just to see what would happen and it worked so then did a trade in 6E and it worked and then in ES and at first there was nothing as you will see from the snap shot but then it just worked and showed the position in the dom and in the Trade Orders and Positions window, I cant tell you why. Perhaps using a different symbol first got the settings sorted or may be its that I completely shut down last night or perhaps its that I opened the Trade Order and Positions window for the first time I really don't know but it seems to be working now. I will keep an eye on it for the rest of this week and let you know on Friday. Anyways I attached the snapshots of the test trades as requested and you will see ES did not display correctly at first but then rectified itself and displayed correctly (I did not take a snap of the ES when it displayed correctly but it was correct)

Inconsistent behavior that you see like this is going to be due to issues within Trader Workstation. Sierra Chart will always consistently request the current Trade Positions any time there is an order fill, and whenever Sierra Chart connects to Trader Workstation. We have confirmed this now. Another thing to be aware of is that you will also see a field named Trade Service Position Quantity, that must match the Quantity field. It may not at first, but it will be synchronized within 8 seconds. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Adding to this thread: I am using the APEX evaluation with RTHMIC. When i place a trade for ES the target & stop lines remain visible. But, the line that usually shows +1 or -1 vanishes. The position line disappears. But when trading the NQ on another chartbook, all three lines remain visible. So, it does work, but not on ES. Is this just another RTHMIC ISSUE? And, will this problem not happen in a live trade? Thanks for any help Date Time Of Last Edit: 2024-02-20 18:25:44

You need to look in your "Trade >> Trade Service Log" and see if there are order rejections in there, or perhaps something that will give you insight into why the order is being closed right away. You can post the contents of your Trade Service Log to this thread for us to review. You can also check your "Trade >> Trade Service Log" and look for the orders associated with the position you are trying to open, and look in the "OrderActionSource" field to see what it states as to why the position was closed right away.
