I have had issues recently with SC 'not responding'...over the course of the last few builds it happens when I try to 'add custom study' ...sometimes the button allows me to add a custom study and sometimes it just freezes up/unresponsive and i have to force to close the program tonite has happened half a dozen times pls advise if you need me to email any diagnostic files perhaps a custom study is corrupted and causing the crash? thanks |

Refer to help topic 17.3 here about this: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/helpdetails17.html#h17.3 It is indeed caused by a faulty DLL file. It is hard to say specifically what is wrong with the DLL. The DLL author needs to look into it. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. I removed any and all self made or third party DLL's from the data folder... I only have 'studies' and 'usercontributedstudies' and I still get the problem...anyway to fix? It happened on a clean chart book thanks |

Really this does not make sense if there is only the user contributed studies DLL in the Data Files Folder.

I understand your skepticism but I have had this problem on/off for the last month or so. After you responded to the above I followed your directions. Yesterday I restarted SC, no chartbooks were open, and used a clean chart book to apply a user contributed study and it crashed. Could it be a incompatible user contributed study? Thanks |

Delete the UserContributedStudies.dll file to see if the problem goes away. Make sure you exit from Sierra Chart before doing this. Possibly there is something wrong with the entire file on your system. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. It does seem to be the UserContributedStudies.dll can you attach a download link to an earlier copy? say from December of 2014 also attach the .cpp file and I will dig out any studies I am using and compile them into a separate dll Thanks |

We cannot provide an earlier copy of this. Now that you have deleted the file, install Sierra Chart again by selecting Help >> Download Prerelease and let us know if you still see the problem. The source code is attached. It is many files. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users.
