I use horizontal bands on my charts to indicate support/resistance areas. At the moment I'm displaying these by upper and lower horizontal line studies for each band ~ typically there is 16 ticks between the upper and lower levels. Is it possible to create horizontal band studies so that I can show these with different colour infill, rather like extending rectangle drawing tool?

You can create, and be able to choose, different color and line configurations for drawing tools like the Extending Rectangle. Global Settings >> Tool Configs >> Extending Rectangle http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/doc_Tools.html#UsingMultipleDrawingToolConfigurations If you want to use the Horizontal Lines study, you can set the Draw Styles of line pairs to Fill Top and Fill Bottom. |

Thanks from me too tomglib. The horizontal lines study does exactly what I want and I find that if I use Transparent top fill/bottom and put the study underneath the price in region 1 it does not get in the way. My daily prep now includes using this study to quickly type in levels/zones of interest. You can quickly adapt it to more volatile or less volatile markets by adjusting the upper and horizontal levels as described above. |
