Hi, I am new to sierra chart as well as trading futures. I'm trying to papertrade the MES and test strategies before comitting. Based on multiple tutorials & traders I follow using the DOM, i'm trying to set up my own DOM to have the same column as them (see 2 screenshot : Carmine and traders academy Pro) Their DOM have the current traded Bid/ASk volume "in sync" with a Delta column that is highlighting clearly who's in control at every specific price. See my green cirle : every price in their delta column is a reflection of the ask-bid and the numbers match. Now after several days of trying... I just can't get it to work on my DOM. See my screenshot with red circle, the numbers from my VPS/VPB don't match my delta column and I don't know which setting is affecting that (it seems my recent traded columns starts from 0 as I open up the software in stead of having the actual trades cached as the volume profile does). Any help would be GREATLY appreciated as I am about to pull the plug on sierra altogheter. I've also added a screenshot of my settings for the volume profile (which I think is where we can created the delta column) Thanks! |

Here is the other screenshot (trading academy pro) that have a delta colum working with the recent traded columns. I'm also wondering where are the settings for those recent traded bid/ask ? Can we specify what is considered "recent"? I've seen that we can reset them manually. |

There is not an easy way to "align" the Current Bid/Ask with the Delta. As you have seen, you would have to reset both the Current Bid/Ask and the Volume Profile at the same time in order to get them aligned. There is not a way to do this precisely using the built-in tools in Sierra Chart. The best you could do is to reset one and then the other using either Keyboard Shortcuts or Control Bar buttons. The only way to have them both reset at the same time would be to create a custom study that does this. We would recommend asking the people you are watching how they are doing this, as maybe they have something they would share. Refer to the following related to creating a custom study: ACSIL Interface Members - Functions: sc.ClearCurrentTradedBidAskVolume() https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SierraChartStudyAndSystemProgrammers.php For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Thank you John for taking the time and helping me. I guess if there were a slight out of sync (few orders missed by the time I click both reset) it would not be a big deal. Yet I fail to see how resetting those columns (delta and the recent traded bid/ask) would make sens in the first place? Isn't the whole point to see the volume profile of the day and the accumulation of the traded orders?. If I reset them at random, then I lose valuable info of what was traded earlier. Thanks for the clarification! |
