Hello...is it possible to make a chart like Image1 using the Numbers Bars study? Specifically, column 1 is the candle, column 2 is total volume that occurred at the bid, column 3 is total volume that occurred at the ask. I can see in the Numbers Bars study that I can use multiple columns, but the Numbers Bars Text options don't seem to include volume at bid or volume at ask. I'd like columns for each one which would allow me to color shade each column independently. Thank you.

There is the "Bid Vol x Ask Vol " Text Type:
Numbers Bars: Numbers Bars Text Types

So this will give you both the Bid Volume and Ask Volume in a single column.

Yes I understand, but I would like each of those numbers in a separate column. This would allow me to color shade the Bid Volume and Ask Volume columns independently as in the image I attached.

The way to do what you are wanting is to use a single column and set the following:
- Column 1 Numbers Bars Text: Bid Vol x Ask Vol
- Column 1 Background Type: Background on Dominant Side
- Column 1 Background Coloring Method: select one of the options that starts with "Based on Separate..." (such as "Based on Separate AskVol BidVol Percentage")

From the image, you may also want to set the following:
- Numbers Separator Character: Use one of the "Spaces" options (such as "Two Spaces").

The Bid side will then be colored based on the Down colors and the Ask Side colored based on the Up colors. The only thing you get "locked" into is that you can only set a single set of "Threshold Values", so the Bid and Ask side will be using the same relative values for the coloring.

I have made some progress with your suggestions. Using Bid Vol x Ask Vol for Numbers Bars Text along with Background on Dominant Side for Background Type gives me the two columns. The tricky part is the coloring...

1. Text Color - In the attached 'Footprint Text Color' image, the text color is colored based on the diagonal value. More specifically, if the Bid Volume is at least 2x (or 200%) the diagonal Ask Volume, the text is colored. If the Bid Volume is 4x the diagonal Ask Volume, the text is colored a more bold color. Vice versa of course for Ask Volume being 2x or 4x the diagonal Bid Volume. See red diagonal lines in the first candle.

2. Background Color - The Background color should be based on the horizontal delta at each tick. See horizonal lines in the first two candles of 'Footprint Background Color' image.

1. Use the "Text Coloring Based on Separate Diagonal AskVol BidVol Percentage" option for the text coloring and then set the "Percent Compare Thresholds" to be "1, 2, 4". Refer to the following:
Numbers Bars: Text Coloring Based on Separate Diagonal AskVol BidVol Percentage

Also refer to the following Input that allows for different colors of the text versus the background:
Numbers Bars: Use Separate Colors for Text Coloring Method

2. For this you would want to use the "Based on AskVol BidVol Difference - Actual" and set the "Actual Volume Compare Thresholds" as you want/need. Refer to the following:
Numbers Bars: Background Coloring Based on AskVol BidVol Difference - Actual

Note that the reason we suggest using the Actual difference for the background is that it allows you to set a different set of values from the text Percent Compare Thresholds. Otherwise, if both are using a percentage based coloring, then they use the same Percent Compare Thresholds.
