Hello SC Team,

I've been having a problem with my "order" alerts since I updated my PC to Windows 11 (don't hate me ;-)) the day before yesterday.
Since then, in addition to my custom alert sound, an additional "strange sound" has been playing for orders (placed, modified, or canceled) that I can't identify. I've discovered that this "strange sound" only plays if I'm live. This "strange sound" doesn't occur in simulation mode.

The sound isn't a standard Windows sound. I verified this by trying an unused alert sound alternatively.

No other entry appears in the Alert Manager, except for the fact that a order has been created.

I used procmon to check whether another program might be playing a .wav, but this isn't the case.

This "strange sound" also appears in other SC instances (which I haven't used for about a week).

I'm happy to provide any further information if needed.

THX

When you get this "Strange Sound" open your Alert Manager and see if there is an alert that occurred at that time. If you have an alert that is associated with the sound, then look at that alert in the Alert Manager and see what Alert Number is associated with it (it is the last item in the Alert Text - if there is a specific sound file associated with the alert, then you will see the sound file name).

Then find that alert in "General Settings" and see what it is set to.

After seeing your message, I just restarted my PC. And yes... hmm... after the reboot, the strange sound is no longer there.

Since I shut down and restarted my SC instance earlier, I now assume the problem falls under the category of "oddities in the depths of Windows".

Sorry for the interruption. Next time... an OS reboot will help. ^^
