when using the chart replay feature the chart will automatically start playing when switching the charts to view a different time frame even with the start paused feature enabled. i want it to stay paused when i switch timeframes.

There is no support for this. This is just how it is. We are not going to be spending time trying to support this. It is out of the question. You are doing something which is completely nonstandard. There is absolutely zero consideration to support what you want.

Respectfully, I highly doubt that pausing the playback feature and taking a few minutes to review the market before pressing play is a “completely nonstandard” practice. I feel like wanting to have a playback pause and stay paused while analyzing is one of the more fundamental aspects that should be addressed. It sounds like your saying the start pause feature doesn’t work. I just want some advice on insuring that when I press pause it does not start playing. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2025-03-19 19:35:14

Strangely it used to be fine and it would stay paused until I pressed play. I just don’t know why it changed and I’m just asking for a little help

We see varying results when changing the Bar Period during a replay. The point of post #2 is that there may be some items that work, but this was never part of the intended process for replays, therefore we cannot say that it will specifically work and therefore our only advice is to not use in this manner.

Are you referring to "Start Paused" on the replay window? This was never intended to be used to start a replay paused and then change the bar time frames after and keep it paused. Although we do see it does remain paused even when changing the bar time frames. We assumed what you said was correct and we were just pointing out that we are not going to be spending time trying to support that. But actually it is supported. If a replay is paused, and you change the chart bar time frame it still remains paused. We tested this. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support.
