SC 1191.

Trying to colour the bars of a CCI Study. Used the simplest of alerts to begin, ID7.SG1<0, everything happens as per your documentation, including email alerts, except the bar won't colour.

"When an Alert Condition formula becomes TRUE, an audible alert will be given if enabled, an exclamation mark (!) will be displayed in front of the study graph name, the study graph name will be highlighted as shown below, and a detailed message will be added to the Window >> Show/Hide Alerts Log. An email notification can also be sent."

This is the Alert Log;

Alert - Chart: NZDUSD [R] 60 Min #10 | Study: Color Bar Based On Alert Condition | Formula: ID7.SG1<0 is TRUE. | Last Price: 0.80686 | Bar Start Time: 2014-09-23 16:00:00 | Alert: NZD.USD | 2014-09-23 16:01:24

Please advise.

To color the CCI bars, these are the requisites of the Color Bar study:

-The Color Bar study must be below the CCI study in the Studies To Graph list
-Set the 'Based On' to the CCI study
-Set the Chart Region to the same as the CCI study
-Set the 'Output When Condition True' to 'Use Input Data'
-Set the 'Input Data' to CCI
-Set the Draw Style to Bar.
-Put the formula on the Alerts tab of the Color Bar study.

Thanks for the succinct advice Tom, works like a charm. The only thing I was out on was I used "Colour Bar" under Draw Style.

Now for more interesting conditions!

Perhaps SC Support might consider incorporating your directions in the documentation, it would certainly help others and lessen the load on Support as well.

Actually this is already documented here:

We did add to the documentation now about the draw order.
