Hello. i am trying to set up my charts to automatically take a screen shot on trade close. I have tried a few formulas but keep getting syntax errors. it seems as if Sierra can do this as there is the option to. 'capture chart image on alert for chart' Does someone know what the alert condition formular should be for this to work? i have attached screenshot of current settings. thanks |

There is no condition you need to setup. You have done the first part, which is to setup a specific alert to capture an image when an alert occurs that uses that particular alert number. The next part is to set that alert number for the "Play Alert When Order is Filled" option on the "Trade >> General Trade Settings >> Notifications" page. Refer to the following: Global Trade Settings Windows: Play Alert When Order Filled (Global Settings >> General Trade Settings >> Notifications) Note that there is no a specific option to capture only when a position is closed. But there are separate options for when a Target or Stop is filled, which may be more for what you are wanting. Those options are listed down a couple of sections below the link given above. Hey John. i have done this and it works apart from it just takes a picture of the DOM I executed on. I have turned off alerts on the dom chart settings. is there a way to make the alert take a picture of a particular chart? there are probably 4 markets i would be trying to capture these screen shots of. It would be a great feature to add in the future. to be able to make this a setting available in individual chart settings. Thanks |

We are not sure why it takes an image of that Trading DOM. We will have to look into what it is going to take an image of when a global item like "Play Alert when Order is Filled" is used. It is probably capturing the chart on which the order was originally placed. Therefore, you would need to find a workaround. For instance, if you want a certain chart image, then you could use the "Trading: Position Quantity" study on that chart and check if there has been a decrease in the quantity to know that a trade has been closed. The alert condition in this case would look like the following: =SG1 < SG1[-1] Where SG1 is the Quantity subgraph of the study. You could even hide the "Trading: Position Quantity" study if you do not want to see it on the chart. You would then assign the alert that has the option to capture the screen to that study.
