Not sure why it's acting like this now. Never had an issue before. I updated all instances of SC to the most recent Current Version. The only way I can connect to data on the sub-instance is by first connecting to data on the main instance. Previously I didn't need to turn on the main instance and could just run the sub-instance independently. When I disconnect from the data feed on the main instance, I get a popup error message on the sub-instance, which I took a screenshot of and attached. |

This is how a sub instance works: The only way I can connect to data on the sub-instance is by first connecting to data on the main instance. This is nothing new. This would only occur if you actually completely exit from the main instance: When I disconnect from the data feed on the main instance, I get a popup error message on the sub-instance, which I took a screenshot of and attached.

I'm surprised to hear that as I've been using sub-instances for over a year and this is the first time I've come across this. I guess I must have changed my workflow without knowing it. If that's the case, how can I make the sub-instance its own standalone instance? Is it enough to move the installation folder to another location? Would I have to change any settings? |

If that's the case, how can I make the sub-instance its own standalone instance You cannot do it this way. You just need to set up a separate installation of Sierra Chart, set to a Service other than the DTC Sub Instance service.
