Hello,

The following could be the expected behavior, but I am having a difficult time achieving my goals with the spreadsheet study and I would like some assistance to clarify what I am not understanding and/or doing wrong

Scenario:
1 Chartbook
2 charts - chart10, chart20 - each with its own studies needed for my spreadsheet calculations
each chart has the spreadsheet study attached, and the the Chart Data Output Sheet Number pointing to itself (default)
1 spreadsheet study with the 2 sheets - Sheet10 and Sheet20 accordingly

Behavior
Formulas/results on Sheet10 off studies available on chart10 - OK
Formulas/results on Sheet20 off studies available on chart20 - OK

The formulas/results created on sheet20 now available on sheet10 are wrong (expected behavior? - I assume yes) - they reference cell#s from within Sheet10 which are different from the Sheet20

On Sheet10 - I cannot use Sheet20!cell# - referencing Sheet20 cell#s - they all show blank (expected?) / formula disappears (expected? - I assume yes)
Changing Chart Data Output Sheet Number on Chart20 to point to Sheet10 has no effect regarding the formulas/results on Sheet10 (do I understand this setting correctly?)

Desired Outcome/Goal

On Chart10, using Sheet10, I would like to be able to either:
1) Use cells available in Sheet20 pulling data from chart20's studies
2) Use formulas/results from Sheet20 so I can reference them by studies in Chart10

I am certain I am not understanding this correctly, and I need the clarification on how to use the Chart Data Output Sheet Number or if this is not the right approach, how do I use the sheets correctly to achieve my goal to provide data from multiple sheets to my charts?

Thanks

We just tested the following scenario and everything is working as expected:
- Two Spreadsheet Studies on different charts (Chart #1 and Chart #2), both using the same spreadsheet as defined by the "Spreadsheet Name" field on the Study Settings window.
- Each spreadsheet study has the "Chart Data Output Specification Type" set to "By Number", and the "Chart Data Output Sheet Number" is set to "0", meaning each chart uses its own Chart Number for the Sheet Name, resulting in two sheets named "Sheet1" and "Sheet2".
- With an RSI study on Chart #2, we can enter the following formula in cell K3 of Sheet1 and get the data properly populated:
='Sheet2'!AA3

So you should be fine with your scenario as you state. Make sure you are referencing the cells properly as defined here:
Working with Spreadsheets: References to Other Sheets within a Spreadsheet

If you continue to have an issue, then we need to know what error you are getting in the spreadsheet.

Hi John,

Thank you for your reply.
I've changed all spreadsheet instances to use "0" and they've all be automatically renumbered to the associated chart#
Then I proceeded to test the cell reference Sheet#!cell# and it worked just fine
