Hello there,

I am new to Sierra Chart and haven't been able to find a clear answer on the support board or YouTube regarding proper paper trading in Sierra Chart.

I see there is an option to create a paper account and charge it with virtual money, but I am unable to use it effectively. I need to track statistics of my trades, including money in and out during both good and bad trades. However, when I try to trade on historical data (replays), it only works in simulation mode, and I can't use the paper account for this purpose.

If I switch to real-time trading, I encounter errors such as "Trading Evaluator (Order reject). Info: Symbol is unknown for trading. Internal Order ID: 1307. Service Order ID: (none). Symbol: NVDA. Account: First1."

Could you please guide me on how to properly set up and use a paper trading account in Sierra Chart, especially in replay mode, so that I can effectively monitor and analyze my trades?

Thank you for your assistance.

The "Simulated Futures Trading Service" we have does not support trading while replaying. Therefore while replaying, you have to be in Simulation Mode, which is a separate environment.

In simulation mode, there is not a single account balance, but you can see profit/loss from individual trades, or a collective profit/loss.

The reason you are getting the error for the Trading Evaluator is that the system is only for Futures trading (hence the name "Simulated Futures Trading Service"). It does not have support for trading equities. For those, you would have to use the built-in Simulation Mode.

For more information on the built-in Simulation Mode, refer to the following:
Trade Simulation
For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service:
