Is this correct? In order for for the buy or sell stop to get filled, the order goes first to amp and then the cme. So the broker knows buy/sell stops before it’s filled at cme. The orders are not routed directly from my computer to the cme

No, the order goes direct to the exchange always. The broker is not involved in that. There is no interaction with any broker system at all except for end of day balance processing. It is a fully independent system connected to the CME. Brokers set parameters for your account, and all risk is managed by the Teton order routing system following those parameters.
