Hello Support,

Is there a way to have your alert displayed on the chart. For example say I want to to be alerted at when price hits $100, I would like to see a line at the price signaling there is an alert set there. Is there a way to do this? no of my alerts are visible so it would be helpful if I can see them.

Thank you

Jermain

Great idea.

Also, how about offering something like right-click on the chart at the level for an alarm, then make this line visible as the OP suggests.

Hi,
You can link an alert to any drawing tool you use (line, ray, rectangle...).
To set an alert, go to "Tools" tab => Tools config => "Tool name" you want to configure => "Alert" tab
Configure your alert and then save the configuration of the tool to any profil available.
You can now use your tool on your chart, right clic on it and select the tool config you just parametered.

In addition to what User217676 states, you can also have the drawing tool change to a different configuration when an alert goes true for that drawing. So you could set the original color to be the same as the background, so it is not visible, and then have it change to a visible color then the alert is true. Refer to the following:

So I noticed if you do a chart Drawing alert you have to stay on the same symbol to activate that alert. That seems to defeat the purpose of having an alert. I want to have alerts so it notify me when a level has been hit even if I am looking at another symbol. If you do the Add symbol Alert you will get a notification but you cant see an alert line. Is there a way to see your alert line and still be able to view other symbols. Right now I am setting alerts on another platform because I cant figure out how to do it on here with out staying on the same symbol.

There is not a way to see a drawing tool alert on a chart that has a different symbol than what you want to see the alert for.

Hi John,

Sorry if that was confusing. I like to trade NAS, S&P, Dow and Gold. What I have notices is if I have an Drawing Tool alert set on NAS and I switch the screen to watch what's happening with Gold. If the Alert is hit on NAS it will not notify me that my target has been hit. If I have to be on the same screen that my alert is set for it seems to defeat the purpose of having an alert, is there another way to set an alert that will allow me to see where my alert is set and notify me if I am not watching that particular symbol?

If you have a chart open for a particular symbol, then the alert will go off and will do whatever you have set for it. In this case, if you are not actively watching the chart, then you would want to set the drawing alert to have a defined alert set for the "Alert Sound" associated with it so you will get an audio alert as well as the visual. You can also then setup the that particular alert number to have a popup window for even more visual clues. Refer to the following:
Chart Drawing Tools: Chart Drawing Alert Options

General Settings Window: Configuring Alert Number Instructions

If, on the other hand, you are actually changing the symbol of the chart, then there is no way for the system to give an alert for the particular symbol and drawing tool that you want when that symbol is not the active symbol of the chart.
