Hi again, I'm using the replay on Forex data and went I do a market order always shows a difference of 0.00005 between the real price I enter. I thought the problem was the currency value per tik of 0.00005 on chart settings I changed to 0, also on the global symbol settings I changed it to 0 and still the market position line still shows that difference after adjustments. There's something I missing out to fix that? I doing market replay with 5 charts only 1 I made the adjustment since is the one I'm using to enter the market orders. Thanks, |

Hi John, Thanks for the info I fixed. But on live data is still is 0.00005 difference. On the current quote screenshot I uploaded the bid/ask difference is 8ticks but on sierra is 5ticks. I want the trade position lines market orders to be on the last price so there's no difference. How I can do it? Thanks. |

We are not sure what you are trying to show. Keep in mind that any order is going to be filled at either the Bid or Ask (depending on whether is is a Sell or Buy order respectively). This is true in our simulation environment as well as with most exchanges. If you have a question about how a market order is filled on a particular exchange, you would need to ask the exchange themselves for how they handle this. Here I uploaded a screenshot on market replay with the trade position line fixed with this setting that the trade position is created on the last price. Then another screenshot real live market with the same settings but the trade position line is created with a difference of 5 ticks. How I can make the trade position line be created on the last price in real live market data? Btw I have trade simulation mode on. Thanks John like always, Date Time Of Last Edit: 2024-10-30 19:50:23

Hi John, I downloaded the latest release and still on live market the trade position is created with a difference of 5 ticks. I uploaded screenshots of the settings and also of the trade. |

What you are seeing makes perfect sense. We do not see any issue. GBPUSD generally has a spread of 0.0001. So when the Best Ask is at 1.28651 the Best Bid is at 1.28641 and the Market Price is at 1.28646 (in between the two). When you place a Buy order, it will get filled at the Best Ask price, which is approximately 0.00005 points away from the Market Price. There is a study called "Bid and Ask Prices" that will show you where the Best Bid and the Best Ask are currently as well as historically. You will see that you are getting filled at either the Best Ask or the Best Bid depending on whether you are Long or Short (respectively).

So there's no way to have the trade position on live market data be created at the last price like it appears on replay?

You should see the same thing occurring during a replay. If you want to see it specifically, pause the replay and then enter an order. You will see that it is at either the Best Bid or Best Ask.

On replay before the option: (Always Simulate Bid and Ask Prices During Replay) Was the same as live data with the same 5ticks difference. But on live data keeps the difference. |

In the case of having the "Always Simulate Bid and Ask Prices During Replay" set to "Yes", you will see a difference in where the orders are placed, as the Bid and Ask prices are handled differently. Refer to the following: Chart Settings: Always Simulate Bid and Ask Prices During Replay (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Trading menu) You need to determine how you want to have that set. If you want the orders during a replay, to act in the same way as when not running a replay, then set the above option to "No". If you want the replay to not use the typical spread for the Bid and Ask, then leave the option set to "Yes". It is up to you as to how you want to deal with this. But there is nothing wrong with how the orders are being filled. Sorry for the late response John. But there's no option to overdrive how the trade position line is created on Sierra using the best ask, bid price and instead use the last price? |

You have us confused. What exactly do you want to see and in what situations (replay and/or live)?

Like you see on the pic I attached now when I enter live there's always a difference of 5points 0.00005 because of bid and ask prices. I just want the trade position line be created on the last price without that difference. |

For live trading or Simulated trading in real-time (i.e. not during a replay) you can not change this. This is how orders are placed with exchanges. Your order is put at the Bid or Ask, it is never actually put at the Last price.

I understand that but since the Simulation is on you should have that option. Since I use Sierra for research and not all forex brokers have the same bid, ask gets a little confusing. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2024-11-13 17:20:30

There is not a way to change this. Our Simulation mode is reflecting how the exchanges actually work. This is not something that we will change.
