Is there a keyboard and/or mouse shortcut that can allow me to skip from one chartbook to the next without having to access the main global control panel?

There are menu items under the Window menu for "Previous Chartbook" and "Next Chartbook". By default, these are set to keyboard shortcuts of "F7" and "F8". You can change the keyboard shortcuts if you like under "Global Settings >> Keyboard Shortcuts".
