I have my chart bar period set to 0-0-1 so that it's 1 second per bar. I also have "Include columns with no data" set to Yes, in order to show all bars, even those without any volume. The issue is that in realtime in the spreadsheet system for trading study, it will not print new columns until there is a trade. For example, if there is a trade at 12:01:02, and then no trades until 12:01:07, it will be stuck at 12:01:02 until a trade occurs at 12:01:07 and then it will still include all "empty" seconds between, but it is too late to do anything with those seconds at that point. I am looking for a way to make trade decisions based what second within the minute it is, regardless whether there is volume or not |

Sierra Chart is setup to not update unless there is a trade. The only way around this is to use the study called "Chart Recalculation - Periodic" that will force an update every n seconds. You can set it to 1 second. Just be aware that this is going to increase the amount of calculations that are done so if you have a lot of studies that can cause a lot of CPU activity and slow down your charts. Refer to the following: Chart Recalculation - Periodic For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
