Bug fix: When I start Sierra Chart the "Always on Top" toggle is checked on the Activity Log. When I click on another chart/DOM/window the Activity Log will get left in the background and is not visible. I have toggle the "Always on Top" checkmark to off, then back on again for it to work every time I restart Sierra Chart. It would be nice if this would stay working so I do not have to continuously toggle it on/off every time I start the platform. |

We are not able to reproduce any issue with the "Always on Top" option for the "Trade Activity Log". What is the exact workflow that you are using to reproduce this. We need the exact situation and what kind of window you are selecting (attached, detached, from a different chartbook, etc.). Sierra Chart 2670. It seems like when Sierra Chart closes the "Always on Top" toggle is not saved, even if the checkmark is marked. Upon startup the following is autoloaded: 12 chartbooks each with the following: - 2 charts per chartbook - 1 Time and Sales per chartbook - 1 DOM window per chartbook Windows: - Trade Account Monitor Window - Trade Positions Window - Trade Orders Window - Activity Log Window Everything is laid out nicely and set to autoload every time I start Sierra Chart. Nothing is ever moved or any additional settings toggled. Activity Log: - Opens on the "Trades" Tab to show order fills, execution times, etc. - Window->"Always On Top" is the only option checked, and is checked automatically upon starting Sierra Chart without me having to click it. - If I click on a chart, another chartbook, the DOM, the Time and Sales, or any other area of Sierra Chart, the Activity Log will remain open but is hidden behind Sierra Chart (which is fullscreen) as Sierra Chart comes to the front, negating the "Always on Top" toggle. - I have to manually uncheck and then recheck the "Always on Top" toggle to get the functionality working. - Clicking anywhere on a chart, another chartbook, the DOM, etc. like before after unchecking and rechecking the toggle, makes everything work as expected. The window stays where it is and is not hidden behind the main Sierra Chart window. It seems like the toggle is not set upon Sierra Chart startup, even if the checkmark is there, and unchecking and rechecking the toggle enables the functionality to work properly. If you need more info please let me know. I hope that is what you are asking for. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2024-09-04 23:38:29

We looked into this, and there is no problem whatsoever on the Sierra Chart side. We are not going to spend any further time on this ever again. And we will never accept at any point now or in the future that this is or ever was a problem on the Sierra Chart side. This is a problem with the damn garbage crap Windows operating system. And we are being too polite here regarding Windows. It is nothing more than a bunch of damn garbage at this point in time.

Totally understand. Just out of curiosity, were you able to reproduce it? I was going to take a video just for the hell of it. Curious if you think I'm insane or not. Definitely happening every time I open it up and I just try to ignore it lol. Not a big deal. Thanks for trying. |

We are not able to reproduce it, which is why we have to believe it is a Windows issue. The "Always On Top" functionality is a Windows specific implementation. We do not think you are insane. We were not able to reproduce it but there is a chance it may get resolved in a future release. One thing about the Trade Activity Log window is that it is based upon the Microsoft foundation classes, which we are working to gradually remove from the program.
