Hello, What could be the reason that my chart book for ES loads the entire data after a short disconnect and the CL chart book only the small data delta from the disconnection? Thanks; |

That loading you see is just loading from a local data file. Hi, I have attached a new image that may explain the issue better. 3 products CL, ES, GC ( all copy charts from CL just change the symbol later to ES & GC, didn't change and chart properties ) Why ES symbol decide to fully upload from disk when CL & GC were satisfied to append the missing data without disk upload. Thanks; |

If you had changed the symbol for that chart, then the system needs to download the data for that chart. Also, even if you had other ES charts open previously, this one is a Continuous Futures Contract chart, so it may have needed additional data that you did not already have on your system.

Hi, In the log after the disconnection, I see a trace like: "Market Depth data download complete for ESU4.CME." " Opened cached Depth file: C:\SierraChart\Data\MarketDepthData\ESU4.CME.2024-09-11.depth" only for ES symbol. I don't ( in the past I did ..)use the market depth and the folder "C:\SierraChart\Data\MarketDepthData\" maybe this is related to the issue? how can I stop market-depth download "ESU4.CME.2024-09-12.depth" is my last modified file and GC & CL don't create market depth files Thanks |

The first thing to do is to set the option for "Global Settings >> Sierra Chart Server Settings >> General >> Support Downloading Historical Market Depth Data" to "No". Refer to the following: Sierra Chart Server Settings: Support Downloading Historical Market Depth Data (Global Settings >> Sierra Chart Server Settings >> General >> General) But the historical market depth data should not be downloading unless you have the "Market Depth Historical Graph" on a chart. Make sure you do not have an ES chart somewhere with the Market Depth Historical Graph study on it - if you do, be sure to remove that study. Hi, "Global Settings >> Sierra Chart Server Settings >> General >> Support Downloading Historical Market Depth Data" to "No". - did help and after a short disconnection no full upload from the disk. but MarketDepthData folder continues to be populated with market-depth files and only for ES symbol. I don't use the "Market Depth Historical Graph" Thanks; |

You should not be getting any new market depth data files. The files that are there will stay there unless you specifically remove them.

Hi, As you can see from the image, I can't delete them while SC process is running because the application uses them. |

Therefore, exit from Sierra Chart. Reduce the amount of days of depth data to load in a chart: Chart Settings: Maximum Market Depth Data Days to Load (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Market Depth menu) Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. The settings you show have nothing to do with whether Market Depth data is going to be downloaded or not. The setting that is important is the following: Global Settings >> Sierra Chart Server Settings >> General >> Support Downloading Historical Market Depth Data Which needs to be set to "No". If you have changed this, then you need to reconnect to the data feed (having restarted Sierra Chart will also take care of this). If you are still getting new files in your Market Depth folder, then we would need to see your Message Log by following these instructions: Support Board Posting Information: How to Post Your Message Log (Required In Some Cases) For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
