Hello Support,

I couldn't find information in the support boards, so I need some assistance. Once the Service Package 12 is enabled, does the depth of market data feed connect directly to the selected exchanges? Are these feeds directly linked to the exchanges without delay? If not, which broker or data feed is recommended for enabling live data viewing through DOM?

Thank you for your help. Please let me know if you need any additional information.

Just to make sure it is understood - Package 12 does not give you the real-time data for The CME Group, EUREX, CFE, CBOE, or U.S. Equities. To get the real-time data from us for these exchanges, you need to go through the Setup Instructions for the appropriate exchange and eventually activate, and pay for, the exchange.

You can get real-time data from your broker, depending on what trading service you are using. You can get real-time data from Interactive Brokers or brokers that use Rithmic or CQG. But we do not have connectivity with CQG for The CME Group and EUREX, so if you use CQG, you would have to get those data from us.

Note that we are generally not happy with the data from other vendors, and we state this openly, as we often get blamed for issues that arise from other vendors. Therefore we highly recommend using our Denali Exchange Data Feed, which is directly connected to the exchanges.

For information on our Denali Exchange Data Feed, refer to the following:

Hi John,

Thanks for your detailed response.

Can you confirm the major differences between the direct data feeds, specifically the differences between Nymex – Top of Book, Market Depth for Non-Professionals, and Nymex Professional?

Additionally, while I understand you might not have this information, do you know the data level tier offered by Interactive Brokers or should this be directed to this broker?

Thanks for informed help with this, much appreciated.

The "Top-of-Book" exchanges only give you the top of the book data - i.e. one market depth level. You do not have get the full Market Depth data.

The "Market Depth" exchanges give you the full market depth data.

The "Professional" exchanges are for professional traders, or those that are listed as brokers according to FINRA. If you do not know what this means, then you are not a professional trader.

The "Non-Professional" exchanges are for everyone else that is not a Professional. But, the CME Group has a requirement that you have a live, funded, futures trading account in order to qualify as a Non-Professional and get the data at the non-professional rates. You need to be able to connect your Sierra Chart software to that account at least once a month for verification as well. Refer to the following for more on this:

Given the above Professional/Non-Professional requirements from the CME Group, it is possible that you could have to pay the Professional rates if you do not have a live, funded, futures trading account that qualifies. This is why those exchanges are listed as "for Professionals or Users Without a Trading Account".

But, if this situation applies, then we highly recommend using the solution outlined at the following link. This solution ties up $100-$200, but this is still cheaper than just a few months of the Professional exchange fees.

As to the data levels offered by Interactive Brokers - you would have to ask them. We do not know.

You need to contact Interactive Brokers about any questions for them.
