TPO Value Area Lines Study - Chart Period issue

Hello,

I've realized that the inputs for TPO Value Area Lines Study are changing when I
switch between M15 and Daily time period on the same chart.

The affected inputs Time Period Type + TPO Letter Time Length in Minutes should stay unchanged - even if i change the chart period.

The Volume Value Area Lines Study has a solution in place --> "Automatically Correct Invalid Time Period Type/Length"

This is doing the job here for this study.

thanks in advance

We have added the same option for "Automatically Correct Invalid Time Period Type/Length" to the TPO Value Area Lines study and updated the documentation for both studies to reflect this new Input.

The change to the TPO Value Area Lines will be in the next Pre-Release (v 2658).

Hello,

updated to 2659, issue still present for me.

The new settings work, but only if i set the chart data type to intraday chart only.

I have to load over 100 days on intraday charts, to use my levels thats a bit much.

Can you please check as I'm switching between from M15 to Daily period on the same chart.

Right now my chart data setting is intraday chart.

thx

The only change we made was to add the option for "Automatically Correct Invalid Time Period Type/Length", as it exists for the "Volume Value Area Lines". So when you change to a Daily or higher timeframe, the "Time Period Type" and "Time Period Length" will not be changed.

We did not change anything else about how the calculations work.

OK, how can I share my chartbook.

You can switch from m15 to daily and back to m15 and you'll see that the TPO Value areas do not stay on the same price.

You should not expect to have the same TPO Value Area Lines values when you change from an Intraday to an Historical (Daily or higher timeframe) as the Historical Daily data only has Open/High/Low/Close/Volume information. It does not contain every trade like the Intraday data does.

But i can expect that when i switch back from daily to M15 the TPO Value area lines are displayed on the correct price.

See attached screenshots.

The "TPO Letter Time Length in Minutes" is not being kept between changes. So it is changing to 1440 when you change to a Daily, so you would need to change this back to 30 when you change to a 15 Minute chart.

We have changed the code for this, so this will also stay as it was set when you change to a Daily chart if the option for "Automatically Correct Invalid Time Period Type/Length" is set to "No".

This will be in the next Pre-Release - v 2661.

2661 solved the issue.

Thanks John.
